Arusha to Tarangire National Park

On this day, you will be picked up from your lodge and begin your journey to Tarangire National Park. The park takes its name from the Tarangire River, which winds its way through the landscape and serves as a vital water source for wildlife, especially during the dry season. The scenery here varies from thick acacia woodlands and tall elephant grass to lush green forests along the riverbanks. Tarangire is famous for its large herds of elephants that gather near the river, as well as for its diverse wildlife, including giraffes, hartebeests, bushbucks, and many more. Predators such as lions and leopards are often seen following the movements of these herds. With its remarkable variety of habitats, Tarangire also boasts one of the highest concentrations of breeding bird species in the world. After enjoying your picnic lunch and a rewarding game drive, you’ll depart the park and head to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
