Day 1

You will be picked up in the morning by our driver guide from the airport or your hotel in Nairobi. After a short safari briefing, you will begin your 3.5hrs journey towards the northern region through the central agricultural highlands. You might be lucky to view Kenya's tallest mountain - Mt Kenya, before you get to Nanyuki town. Arrival and game drive en route to The Stables. After lunch, go for a game drive and visit the chimps sanctuary as well.

Ol Pejeta boasts an astounding variety of animals including non-indigenous chimpanzees and the Big Five. It is the best location to see the rhino. The combination of amazing wildlife and stunning views across the open plans will guarantee you an unforgettable safari experience.

Day 2

Morning game drive before departing to drive North to Samburu National Reserve. This park offers unique vistas of rounded, rugged hills and undulating plains. The mix of wood and grassland with riverine forest and swamp home to a wide variety of animal and birdlife, Buffalo Springs records over 365 species of bird. Game viewing and visibility is great; Reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, elephant, beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, hippo, crocodile, gerenuk, cape buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena.

Day 3

Samburu to Meru National Park

Samburu to Meru National Park

Morning game drive before leaving Samburu for Meru National Park with scenic views of Mt. Kenya’s peak if the morning weather is clear. You will pass through very pleasant hilly agricultural countryside with tea, coffee, banana and khat (locally known as miraa) farms. Meru is blessed with abundant rainfall and numerous permanent water courses flowing down from Mt. Kenya which support a luxuriant jungle of forest, bush, swamp and tall grasses. This provides fodder and shelter to a wide variety of herbivores and their predators. Wildlife found in this park include: elephant, lions, antelopes, cheetah, lesser kudu, eland, waterbuck, Grant’s and Thompson’s gazelle and oryx. Buffalo, reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra and impala can also be spotted.

Day 4

Meru to Nairobi

Meru to Nairobi

After breakfast, leave Meru for a 6hrs journey back to Nairobi.

Alternatively, stop at the Aberdares to overnight at The Ark Lodge (tree lodge). The Aberdare Range is a 160 km long mountain range of upland, north of Kenya's capital Nairobi with an average elevation of 3,500 metres (11,480 ft). Arrive at Aberdare Country Club for lunch. This is the base hotel where you leave behind your luggage and board a 4WD vehicle for a transfer to The Ark Lodge. Set in the heart of the Aberdare National Park, iconic and yes, quirky, The Ark overlooks a floodlit waterhole and salt lick, which attracts a host of awesome wildlife.
