Day 2

Ike visit

Ike visit

After breakfast, we shall drive to the Ike tribe, the isolated tribe and have a visit as we engage in the different activities carried out and get to know more about them for the entire day. Ike tribe has a population of less than 10,000 people and with their culture, there are a lot of things to learn and get acquainted with. We shall have lunch and then proceed back to the hotel in time for dinner and over night.

Day 3

Game drive and the hot spring visit

Game drive and the hot spring visit

After breakfast we shall have a game drive in the park to Kanangorok hot spring. A variety of animals can be seen roaming around including Ostrich. The park harbors a great diversity of animal species than other parks. Of the 80 species of mammals listed in 1971, 28 were not known to occur in any other Ugandan park. Among the Carnivore species unique to Kidepo and only Karamoja region include the bat-eared fox, striped hyena, aardwolf, caracal, cheetah and hunting dog. Striped Hyena, Lesser Kudu, Grant’s Gazelle and Beisa Oryx have not been seen at all in recent times and are presumed to be locally extinct. Bush buck, bush duskier, defassa water buck, bohor reed buck, jackson’s hartbeest and oribi are some of the other large game herds. Five species of primate are found in the park- the Kavirondo bush baby being endemic. We shall have a picnic and have lunch and proceed back to the lodge.

Day 4

Cultural village visit and nature walk

Cultural village visit and nature walk

After breakfast, we shall have a cultural experience that will bring into contact with Karamojong peoples at Karenna and Kapedo. Meet the local elders and have an opportunity to interact with them. They will show you the kraals, the grinding stones and many more interesting items. Get exposed to the village dances and songs. We shall have our lunch in the cultural village to have a test of the local food and we continue with the visit. In the evening we shall transfer back to the accommodation in time for dinner and rest as above.

Day 5

Transfer to Murchison falls National Park

Have breakfast and then the guide will drive you from Kidepo valley National park to Murchison falls national park. On arrival, you will have lunch and then proceed for a game drive where you will see many animals including; lions, giraffes, water bucks, and many more. Later, retire at the lodge.

An early cup of tea/coffee at 6:00am go for a Game drive where you will spot, Elephants, Giraffes, Buffaloes, plus more as the checklist of mammals reaches 76 we continue browsing the Drive circuits to the Delta point for a cocktail of Birds and mammals. If you are a keen birder this might be your magnet to catch them. Afternoon-2-5pm for a 3hours Boat ride to the base of Falls where you get to see the Hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants and a variety of beautiful bird species along the falls and Elephants quenching their thirst for the afternoon sun. Overnight and diner at Fort Murchison Lodge.

Morning breakfast, check out of the park and drive along lake Albert to the escarpment area for a great view of the great rift valley, continue to Hoima town for lunch at the kolping Hotel, continue through Mabale, kagadi towns with great views the local community, thatched houses, school kids and finally to Kyenjojo town. Remember it a dirt road from Murchison falls to Kyenjonjo town. Dinner and overnight Kibale Forest Camp.

Depart to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will pass through the crater Valley with beautiful lakes and rich grasslands which are set deep. This is truly the most magnificent scenery in the park. Queen Elizabeth hosts a large variety and volume of wildlife. It boasts one of the highest bio diversity ranging from the open Savannah to Rain forest, dense swamps and beautiful crater lakes to the vastness of Lake Edward. After checking in and having lunch, you will head for an evening game drive. You might spot Elephants, warthogs, waterbucks, hippos and others. You might want to head to the Kasenyi area of the park where lions are frequently spotted.

Take a cup of coffee and go for an early morning game drive in this park, provide excellent opportunities to see Lions, Cape Buffaloes, Giant Forest Hogs, Leopards, Elephants, Defassa Waterbucks, Uganda Kobs, Topi and Bush bucks and many more.
After lunch, enjoy the unique 2-hour launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of Hippos and many animals may be seen drinking at the water's edge. This launch cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing, ideal for the Uganda safari. The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous with well over 550 resident species.

You will rise relatively early for a jovial breakfast to give you the energy needed for gorilla tracking. Report to the ranger station at 08.00 am where the guides will take you through the forest, slashing at the undergrowth, panting thick creepers, to track gorillas. This trek can take from half an hour to five hours therefore a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as a sturdy pair of walking shoes.
You will spend only one hour with seeing the gorillas as you listen to them grumble at each other and marvel at the sheer size of the dominant male, the silver back. It is amazing to think that there are only 650 or so of these creatures left in the world! If you have the afternoon free, you will take a guided village among st the locals.

Early breakfast before embarking on our return to Kampala, driving down the grassed and terraced escarpments of southwestern Uganda while taking in the breathtaking sights of the hills of the region dubbed ‘the little Switzerland of Africa’. This area is a highly fertile, mountainous region with steep sided hills covered from top to bottom in neatly terraced cultivated rows. Not to miss as we traverse Mbarara are the impressing long horn Ankole cattle. A remarkable highlight of this journey is the Equator line and surely you will cross it as we have a brief stop here. We will be in Kampala in the evening at our accommodation Ndere cultural center for dinner and overnight plus the entertainment from Ndere cultural group.
