Gorilla Trekking
After an early breakfast, depart to the starting point for a briefing about your gorilla-trekking adventure. You will be led by experienced gorilla trackers on the slopes of the volcanoes. You will start the gorilla-tracking from the site where the gorillas were encountered the day before.
Although the hike can be physically demanding, the anticipation of the exciting experience ahead is amazing. The beauty of the gorilla forest and its inhabitants are fascinating. One of Africa’s major highlights is when you encounter these gentle apes. It is a humbling experience to stand only meters away from man’s distant cousins as they eat rest, play and bond with their young ones. Follow the mountain gorillas as they range freely in the impenetrable forest, and discover their gorgeous natural habitat and the many species they share it with. You are allowed an hour with the gorillas before finally sloping down back to your lodge.

Walking Safari / Departure
After breakfast, have a safari walk escorted by an armed ranger. The kopjes are particularly interesting with the camouflaged klipspringers and topis. Due to cattle herding in the area, it is amusing to see zebras grazing peacefully alongside the long-horned Ankole cattle. It is exciting to approach wildlife at such close range.
Alternatively, you may choose to go for a mountain bike safari (supplement payment of $15 per person for 2 hours) or a horseback-riding safari in the park (supplement payment of $60 per person for 2 hours).
Later, have a leisurely drive back to Kampala with a stopover at the equator where you will have an opportunity to stand in 2 hemispheres at the same time. Have another stopover at the Mpigi Royal Drum Makers where you will watch the ceremonial drums being crafted, using methods passed down through the generations. Later, transfer to the airport to catch your flight.
Accommodation on the last day can be booked at an extra charge.
