A study in contrasts today: you’ll leave Cape Town’s glittering oceans behind and fly into the Kalahari and to the banks of the Boteti River. Your accommodation is Leroo La Tau – Footprint of the Lion. Fly by shared air charter from Xugana to the fringes of the Okavango Delta & Camp Moremi for 2 nights on a full board basis. Protecting the drier eastern fringes of the Okavango Delta, the Moremi Game Reserve is world-famous for the diversity and numbers of its animals. You fly into the Xakanaxa Lagoon area, where wetland meets savannah and forest. The game viewing is exceptional all year and you stand a good chance of seeing leopard and wild dog. Hippos grunt in the lagoon, elephants often pass through camp – it’s pure Moremi magic.

Your accommodation is Camp Moremi, long established on the banks of the lagoon. Classic tented suites raised on viewing platforms sit under shady trees filled with birds. Game drives are the best way to find animals but an afternoon boat cruise is highly recommended.

Shared charter flight from Camp Moremi to Savute Safari Lodge, set in the Savute region of the Chobe National Park. Enjoy 2 nights on a full board basis. The wild child of the Chobe National Park, the Savute area is nourished by the Savute Channel and has year-round water. Its reputation for wildlife has long been established thanks to the high densities of predators here. Lions and spotted hyenas dominate but leopard lurk on Savute’s hills, and roaming cheetah and wild dog are regularly seen.
