You will be met upon arrival and driven to Hotel Slipway where you'll stay for 1 night in an executive room on a bed and breakfast basis. Hotel Slipway is a simple overnight option located on the exclusive Msasani Peninsula, right on the Indian Ocean and overlooking the Msasani Bay. This upmarket neighbourhood has plenty of restaurants and shopping opportunities.

Day 2

Fly to Nyerere National Park

This morning you are transferred back to Dar es Salaam Airport for your flight to Nyerere.

You are met on arrival by a representative of Selous Serena Camp who will drive you to the lodge. Your stay is for the next two nights on an all-inclusive basis in a luxury safari tent. This includes full board meals, all drinks (except champagne and premium brands), laundry, two safari activities each day and all game reserve fees.

Selous Serena Camp is a quality permanent lodge in a remote location in Nyerere National Park, an extremely large and important park.

It is a comfortable camp, alongside a small stream, with a pleasant swimming pool and twelve guest rooms offering high levels of conventional comforts. Vehicle traffic in this particular area is very low. Activities include vehicle safari and walking safari. Wildlife viewing is particularly strong during the Jun/Nov dry season, whilst the reserve remains a beautiful place to visit during the converse Dec/Mar green season.

Day 3

On Safari in Nyerere National Park

On Safari in Nyerere National Park

You have one full day on safari from Selous Serena Camp. The park is enormous, around the size of Switzerland, and its wild beauty is unparalleled. Your safari activities are arranged between yourselves and the camp manager the preceding night. This is when you will decide what you would like to do for the following day. This gives you a great deal of flexibility, whether you want to do a bush walk, game drive or boat safari, you can decide the evening before.

Day 4

Safari and Transfer to Mivumo River Lodge

Today is a full day on safari. The park covers around 45,000sq km of wilderness, with grassy plains, open woodland, mountains and forests. Nyerere is Africa’s newest national park. It’s about three times the size of South Africa’s Kruger National Park, and twice the size of the Serengeti National Park. In a fitting tribute, it is also one of Tanzania’s three World Heritage Sites.

As part of your game drive, you will make your way to the next lodge, which is an upgrade to Mivumo River Lodge for the following two nights on an all-inclusive basis.

On Safari from Mivumo River Lodge

On Safari from Mivumo River Lodge

You have one more full day on safari in Nyerere National Park. If you’d like to try a river boat safari, then today could be the perfect opportunity to get out on the Mivumo River Lodge motorboat.

Mivumo features the same 4 seater vehicles as its sister camp and so the privacy and personal quality of your safari is maintained.

Nyerere been home to a large proportion of Tanzania’s elephants population and the park remains a fantastic place to see elephants in the wild to this day. There are also huge populations of crocodile, hippo, spotted hyena and leopard to name just a few of the big game species found here.

This morning, fly to Pangani, where you are met on arrival at Pangani and are driven to The Tides Lodge. Your stay is for the following four nights in the Beach Cottage on an all-inclusive basis with all meals included, laundry, cocktails, wines, beers and soft drinks.

The Tides is a high quality beach lodge, relatively off the beaten track and providing a viable alternative to Zanzibar, with lots of space, good beaches and offshore sandbanks and reefs. Service here is elegant and discreet and there are pleasant waterfront public areas, a nice swimming pool and ten very nice guest rooms. A wide range of activities are available, which is great for keeping your entertained and active.

You can relax on the beach or head out to an additional activity with the lodge. School tours, village walks, turtle hatching, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding are all available free of charge. Other activities on offer are snorkeling trips, fishing and river cruise, dhow cruise or historical tour.
