Busanga Bush Camp lies on a verdant island in the heart of the Kafue’s Busanga Plains, a vast mosaic of grassy seasonal floodplains that extend to the horizon. When the mist rises off the drying floodplains in winter, incredible sunrises and sunsets can be experienced, and the plains and dambos teem with wildlife and birds. Due the remoteness and shortened tourism season here, our presence is vital for the survival of this fragile and extraordinary eco-system.
Hidden beneath sycamore fig trees, this intimate camp has just four well-appointed en-suite tents, each with a veranda to take in the sweeping views. The main area is a relaxed space with uninterrupted panoramas over the plains. The ‘dining room’, a little further back, is shaded by the canopy of a majestic tree from which an unusual lantern chandelier hangs, romantically lighting up dinner.
Night and Day Game Drives, Boating Safaris (subject to water levels and guide availability) and Balloon Safaris (at extra cost).

Overlooking islands in the mighty Zambezi River, Toka Leya offers the perfect combination of relaxation and adventure; ideal for the beginning or end of your African safari. Morning explorations of the river, the surrounding Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park or nearby Victoria Falls can be followed by a tranquil afternoon at our spa or practicing inspired yoga on the panoramic deck of our gym.
The camp’s twelve spacious, en-suite safari-style tents (including three family tents) with expansive decks serve up the dramatic views and glimpses of wildlife. Limiting our footprint on this pristine area, wooden walkways snake between the units and the main area where the dining, bar and lounge area are complemented by an infinity pool, a sundeck for sumptuous meals and a convivial fire pit for night-time gatherings.
