Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park

An early breakfast will be served at the lodge and thereafter, we will depart for Tarangire National Park. The park is named after the Tarangire River which runs through it. This ‘river of warthogs’ is the only source of water for wildlife in the region during the dry season. In places, the vegetation is quite dense, including elephant grass, and acacia woodlands. The park is well known for its elephant families, which can often be seen congregating by the river. You may also see giraffes, bushbucks and hartebeests. These animals are closely followed by a range of predators, including lions and leopards. There are more breeding species of birds found in Tarangire National Park than anywhere else on the planet. Tarangire is the best place to see these gentle giants in their natural habitat, from the adorable calves all the way up to the intimidating bulls. After a packed lunch and an extensive game drive, we will head to Migombani Camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast, drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and on to Serengeti National Park with game viewing drives en-route. Serengeti is undoubtedly the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world, unequalled for its natural beauty and scientific value, it has the greatest concentration of plains game in Africa. It is the migration for which Serengeti is perhaps most famous. Over a million wildebeest and about 200,000 zebras flow south from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains every October and November. They then swirl west and north after the long rains in April, May and June. So strong is the ancient instinct to move that no drought, gorge or crocodile-infested river can hold them back. Serengeti is truly home to the legendary great wildebeest migration. The Serengeti is where safari-goers come for game drives and to truly experience an African safari. Late in the afternoon drive to Seronera Campsite for dinner and your overnight.

Main Destination:

Central Serengeti National Park

Central Serengeti National Park

The entire day is set aside for more game drives in the Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti is the habitat for an abundance of wildlife, such as impalas, buffalo, crocodiles and hippos, but is more well-known for its great migrating herds of zebras and wildebeests. The animals’ trek is determined by the rainfall and varies from year to year. In November and December, the animals move from the northern region, dominated by woodlands and hills, to the grassy plains of the south Serengeti. During the long rainy season from April to June, they return to the north. Apart from the migrating herds, you might have the chance to see predators, such as leopards, cheetahs and lions, always following close by.
After an unforgettable day, the Serengeti National Park is where safari-goers come to truly experience an African safari. Late in the afternoon, return to Seronera Campsite for meals and your overnight stay.
