Day 1

You will be picked up at Kigali International Airport by our driver/guide and transferred to the serpentine Lake Bunyonyi where you will check in at the picturesque resort and rest from the jet-lag. Lots of amenities to choose from in expansive resort. Take a swim, relax in the gardens and enjoy some delicious cooking as you refresh and prepare for the D-day ahead as we trek to see the gentle giants - the mountain gorillas.

Day 2

An early breakfast and then head to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park lies in southwestern Uganda on the edge of the Rift Valley. Its mist-covered hillsides are blanketed by one of Uganda's oldest and most biologically diverse rainforests, which dates back over 25,000 years and contains almost 400 species of plants. More famously, this “impenetrable forest” also protects an estimated 400 mountain gorillas – roughly half of the world’s population, including several habituated groups, which can be tracked.

Early breakfast and then start a long drive to Uganda's most popular National Park, Queen Elizabeth. Queen Elizabeth National Park is understandably Uganda's most popular tourist destination. The park's diverse ecosystems, includes sprawling savanna, diverse fauna and flora. We shall do multiple game drives on this day in the Ishasha plains in the Southern Sector in search of the rare tree climbing lions.

Day 4

Breakfast and then we drive to the Northern Sector where we shall do more game drives. Return to the lodge and have lunch and later embark on a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel where the 2 lakes of George and Edward adjoin. We shall come across pools of hippos and toothsome crocodiles.

Day 5

Early breakfast and then we shall drive to Kalinzu Forest Reserve which boasts of diverse flora and fauna and on this our main focus will be our closest relatives, the chimpanzees. These amazing old World primates share 99% of our DNA. Trek and return to Lake Bunyonyi as we get the much needed relaxation and recreation at Bunyonyi Safaris Resort.

Day 6

Lake Bunyonyi Communities and Island hop

Lake Bunyonyi Communities and Island hop

Breakfast and then head to communities surrounding Lake Bunyonyi where we shall visit Little Angels Uganda Needy Children & Orphanage, a small project that has brought huge impact to vulnerable kids through educating, feeding and clothing them. We shall also get to know how they go about their daily studies before being entertained by the School choir in an energetic music, dance and drama performance. We shall also tour an agricultural project and later do island hopping on a boat cruise. There will be some hiking to crown the day.
