Day 1

Drive to the North Serengeti

Drive to the North Serengeti

Very early in the morning at 6:30am after breakfast, your driver guide will pick you at your hotel and your day will begin with your departure for the famous Serengeti National Park. Heading towards the North part, arriving later in the day, you will embark on an afternoon game drive for an adventurous tour through the vast plains of the area. Keep your eyes sharp for the flourish of zebras that stand out in the golden plains. The smell of tall grass fills the vehicle; the warm sun cools slightly as the afternoon begins to fade, but the bright white stripes of the zebra shine against their deep black streaks. Lion prides peacefully coexist, while hyenas and jackals scrounge for scraps. Giraffes amble along the horizon, their necks silhouetted against a burning sunset. Thompson's gazelle seem to pop up everywhere. With morning and afternoon game drives you'll be overwhelmed by the sights of the Serengeti. In late afternoon drive to your Tented camp for dinner and overnight in serengeti.

Further Actions of the Serengeti Exploring the Great Migration on the Mara River

Early in the morning depart for a morning game drive as morning is a good time to see the animals active. Today we recommend devoting your time to observing the Migration. This phenomenal migration of two-million ungulates is heralded as one of the world’s most impressive natural feats, and if timed correctly, you will have the chance to drive into the epicentre of it all. Setting out at dawn, work your way along the dirt trails as your guide follows signs of the migration.
Wildebeest will soon begin to speckle the horizon, growing in density as you near the central section of the migration. Soon, you will find yourself completely surrounded by the species – though keep an eye towards the perimeter, where hungry predators are often seen lurking. As the sun begins to near the horizon transfer to your Tented camp for dinner and overnight. As the sky theatrically transforms around you, enjoy the solitude felt in your personal part of the bush as you fall asleep.
