Day 1

Kasane - Chobe National Park

Kasane - Chobe National Park

Arrive at Kasane Airport and transfer to Chobe Safari Lodge. Spend the afternoon at leisure at the lodge. You can also visit curio shops and shopping malls, and discuss and book activities for the next day.

The lodge is situated on the banks of the Chobe River with a view of the Namibian side of the river. Wildlife can be seen from the lodge. Warthogs and monkeys will be around the rooms, so you have to keep your doors closed to keep them out!

Day 2-3

Day 2: Go on an early morning game drive into Chobe National Park with open-sided 4x4 vehicles and a local guide. The reason for using their services is that their vehicles are radio connected and you will almost be 100% sure to find the big cats on this drive. Lion and leopard are most likely to be seen, with some other wildlife. Return to the lodge by about 09h00 for breakfast and spend the rest of the morning at leisure. Do a boat trip on the Chobe River from 15h00 to sunset for a great experience and photos of wildlife. Elephants, hippos, crocodiles, birds and many other species of wildlife are to be seen.

Day 3: Go with your guide into the park for wildlife viewing. Travel all along the Chobe River to the border of Namibia where you will see big herds of elephant, buffalo and different antelopes and birds. Lions and leopards may also be seen. Return to the lodge during the late afternoon. Lunch packs can be arranged for the day, or you can do a morning and afternoon drive.

Day 4-5

Namibia: Nkasa Lupala

Namibia: Nkasa Lupala

Day 4: Proceed to Namibia via the Ngoma border post. Arrive at Katima Mulilo and enjoy lunch at the Zambezi River. Drive to Nkasa Lupala Lodge, situated a few meters from the border of the Nkasa Lupala/Mamili Game Reserve. The last 20 km is slow driving on 2-track roads where herds of animals are often present. You will arrive in the afternoon to check in, relax, have dinner and overnight. The small river in front of the lodge attracts various wildlife.

Day 5: You go on a game drive and boat cruise combo with one of the lodge guides in an open-sided 4x4 vehicle. Do a game drive in the park down to the Linyanti River. You then enjoy a boat cruise on the Linyanti River which is the border with Botswana. Lots of wildlife are to be seen here. Have lunch in the wild and return to your lodge in the early afternoon to relax, and have dinner and overnight.

Day 6-7

Kavango Region: Divundu

Day 6: Drive through the Mudumu and Bwabwata National Parks to the Kavango region. Arrive at your lodge by noon and check in, relax and do an afternoon game drive in Mahango National Park (only 5km from your lodge). Ndhovu is a tented camp/lodge, where you stay in luxury tents overlooking the Kavango River. Accommodation can be upgraded to the House Boat, where you stay on the boat every night (optional and more expensive).

Day 7: Do a morning game drive to the Buffalo Core area in Bwabwata National Park on the eastern side of the river. You will also visit Popa Falls (rapids) and return to one of the lodges on the banks of the river for lunch. Do an afternoon drive in Mahango National Park again where you can see elephant, hippo, giraffe, roan, sable, impala, lechwe, reedbuck and more. Return to your lodge by sunset and enjoy dinner and overnight.

Day 8

Botswana: Maun

Today you will travel to Maun, Botswana. Visit the Tsodilo Hills (mountains). Do a walking trail with one of the local guides into the mountains for an hour or two to see the Bushmen's rock paintings in the area. You will arrive in Maun in the afternoon. Drive to your lodge, about 20 km outside Maun on the banks of the Thamalakani River, to check in and relax. Later, you will have dinner and overnight.

Day 9-10

Moremi National Park

Moremi National Park

Day 9: Proceed to Moremi and enter the park at the South Gate. Travel via 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Bridge to Xakanaxa Camp. This is a wildlife paradise and you will cross different small rivers at the bridges, drive through very sandy areas and arrive at your lodge by noon. Check in and enjoy 5-star hospitality and lunch. Go on a game drive in open-sided 4x4 vehicles until sunset and return for dinner and overnight (no walking without an armed guide during the evening!).

Day 10: Go on game drives in the morning and afternoon for wildlife viewing in open-sided 4x4 vehicles with the lodge guides. Lion, leopard, elephant, zebra, giraffe and many antelope are to be seen in the park. Return for dinner and overnight.

Do another early morning game drive with the lodge guides and return to the lodge for brunch. Spend the day in the park until early afternoon on your way back to Maun. You will travel with some loops up to the South Gate to exit the park. This will result in more wildlife viewing. Check in at your lodge and relax until dinner before your overnight stay.
