4x4 Transfer to Chizariria National Park
Chizarira national park is home to all the big five (except Rhino) and is regarded by some as Zimbabwe's most beautiful park due to its stunning geography and remoteness. N.B this is a full participation itinerary involving steep hiking 6-12km/day. You need to be physically fit and have your own sleeping bag and backpack (preferably with a hydration system) & appropriate footwear and clothing.
We will collect you from Victoria Falls in our fully equipped Pajero 4x4 and drive you through 350 km of winding bush roads to remote Chizarira National Park. You will be welcomed by an armed ranger who will brief you before you set off on foot for an afternoon exploratory hike down elephant trails into the Mucheni Gorge for a swim in the rock pools. Your driver will set up camp in the meantime and you will return to bush showers and dinner on the cliff overlooking the gorge with the milky way above. We provide solid canvas dome tents and you will fall asleep to the sounds of the African bush.

Lwisikulu waterfall gorge hike
The dawn of your second full day in the bush and you are starting to relax now and are getting into the routine of waking up early to get the best out of the pristine wilderness.
Today's recommended trail is the most challenging and rewarding trail of the trip at around 12km round-trip. Departing from reception, you will head off on foot down the Lwisikulu watercourse. The target is the Lwisikulu waterfall around 6km from the start. The route is down a rocky river-bed and involves some serious rock-hopping. The further you make it down the Lwisikulu gorge, the more spectacular the scenery becomes. The hike can be lengthened or shortened according to your group's ability. Watch out for leopard claw-marks on the trees and only swim where the guide permits you to as there are large crocs in the bigger pools. The aim is to lunch at the spectacular waterfall and return to camp late afternoon for dinner.
