Drive to Murchison Falls via Ziwa Rhino's Sanctuary

This morning you will start your safari by driving to Murchison Falls National Park. En-route, you will visit Ziwa Rhino's Sanctuary, the home to the only remaining rhinos in the country after the animals were extinct in the wilderness. You'll go on a guided walk to see the rhinos. Upon completion, you will have lunch at the sanctuary and later proceed to Murchison Falls National Park where you will arrive in the evening.

Game Drive, Boat Ride and Hike to Top of Falls

After an early breakfast, proceed on a game drive. Elephant, Cape buffalo, Rothschild's giraffe, Uganda kob, hartebeest, and waterbuck are commonly seen. Large carnivores include lion, leopard, and spotted hyena. After lunch, you will go for a boat safari upstream of the calm Victoria Nile. The boat will stop just tens of meters from the base of the falls. You will then leave the boat and take a guided hike to the top of the Murchison falls.

After breakfast, you will depart Murchison falls national park and drive southwards to Fort Portal town. This long drive will last 5 – 6.5 hours. Along the way, you will enjoy spectacular views of tea plantations. You will stop in Fort Portal town for lunch. Later you will proceed to your accommodation near Kibale Forest national park.

Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi swamp walk

After breakfast, you will embark on the search for chimpanzees inside Kibale Forest national park. The tracking lasts approximately 3 hours. You will spend an hour photographing the chimps before concluding and returning to the lodge.
In the afternoon you will visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary to search for smaller mammals and primates. This walk is excellent for viewing bird life and seeing primates at close quarters.

In the morning, proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Along the way, you will have a stop at Rubona Trading Center where you will visit a group of women who make and sell colorful baskets. You may also purchase some baskets as souvenirs to support them. Upon arrival into the park, you may choose to do an evening game drive which might be rewarded with the spotting of antelopes, elephants, buffaloes, and sometimes lions.

Early in the morning; you will set off for an experiential predator tracking game drive in Queen Elizabeth national park. This activity gives you an opportunity to follow the lions with the help of tracking devices. Along this game drive, you will also be able to see leopard, giant forest hog, Cape buffalo, elephants, defassa waterbuck, Uganda Kob, Topi, and bushbuck.
In the afternoon you will enjoy a 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward.

After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to the park headquarters from where you shall be briefed and grouped for the Gorilla trekking exercise. You will be led by experienced ranger guides and guards off into forests with trackers that assist in locating the gorillas. Tracking gorillas on average takes 3 – 8 hours depending on how far the animals have moved. You will spend an hour following, observing, and photographing the Gorillas as they feed, play, and groom each other.

A visit to the village enables you to interact with local people and learn about their heritage treasures including lifestyles, activities, artifacts, and ways of life. Highlights of the visit include; traditional Intore dances, tasting local cuisine, attend to a local banana beer brewing process, and pottery lessons.

Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe forest starts off from three reception centers, that’s Uwinka, Kitabi, and Gisakura where the tourists meet the park rangers and trek into the forest. The tourists spend only 1 hour with the chimpanzees in Nyungwe Forest National Park and get to observe them so closely. Nyungwe forest national park is also home for 10 other primates’ species. In the afternoon you will do a canopy walk. This is on a bridge adjourned between the huge trees 60m above the forest floor. Enjoy the sights of the fantastic birds that fly across as you enjoy the walk.

At the palace, you will learn about the Rwandese culture and the tradition of grooming cows to respond to the instructions of the herdsmen. You will proceed and arrive in Kigali city in the evening.

You will start your day with a city tour of Kigali. You will visit the Gisozi Genocide memorial for an account of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. You will be made to understand the events that led to the Genocide and the effects it has had on Rwandans. You will also learn about the steps for reconciliation that Rwandans have embraced since. You will also visit the former presidential palace and a crafts market where you could purchase souvenirs.
After lunch, you will be transferred to the airport to catch your flight to your next destination.
