Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe & Zambia
Today you fly to Victoria Falls or Livingstone where our local guide, Mortimer greets and transfers you into the town of Victoria Falls where your accommodation is located in a quiet and leafy area, still within earshot of the constant roar coming from Mosi oa Tunya, the “Smoke that Thunders”.
There are daily flights direct to Victoria Falls (Zimbabwean side of the falls) and/or Livingstone (Zambian side of the falls) from Addis Ababa, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Kruger-Nelspruit, Nairobi and Windhoek.
The town of Victoria Falls - just minutes from the falls and on the fringes of the Zambezi National Park - is a bustling hive of activity and although home to a seemingly endless variety of adventure sports, “Vic Falls” - as the town is called - still has a pioneering and colonial atmosphere.
Dining options include African-style feasts with accompanying tribal entertainment at The Boma or Jungle Junction restaurants, as well as an afternoon High Tea at the Victoria Falls Hotel.

We are pleased to offer you a complimentary guided visit to the Victoria Falls during your stay (Zimbabwean and Zambian sides; includes entrance fees). We have not included any other activities in your safari, allowing you the freedom to choose what you’d like to do and when you’d like to do it. The plethora of activities on offer includes Zambezi river cruises and white-water rafting or canoeing, rhino and elephant walking safaris, helicopter and microlight scenic flights, African township and village tours, adrenaline activities like bungee jumping and zip sliding, and much more. We especially recommend “Tour the Township” with our local guide, Mortimer who introduces you to his home turf and often invites our travelers to lunch with his wife and family. We will send you our separate “Victoria Falls Activities” booklet, and we can pre-book any of these for you or they can be organized by Mortimer upon your arrival.

Okavango Delta, Botswana
Mortimer now transfers you to Kasane in Botswana for your flight into the wild expanse of the Okavango Delta. The flight travels in a light aircraft deep into the delta floodplains and is part of a daily route that often stops at a number of bush airstrips to deliver/collect other travelers. Upon arrival you are greeted by your camp guide who provides a game drive on the way to your camp. After a short rest, you embark on an afternoon bush walk or game drive.
In the heart of the Okavango Delta and accommodating a maximum of seven guests, Footsteps Camp is a place to escape civilization and get back to nature. The camp’s three tents are functional rather than stylish, but are surprisingly spacious and have private bathrooms with flushing toilets. Note that the camp is not fenced, and guests are escorted to their tents after dark. You stay here for two nights immersed in the absolute serenity of one of the world’s last true wildernesses.
The camp is closed from December to February.

While the camp's major focus is on walking safaris, this isn't a hard and fast rule and you can opt to go on as many game drives and/or mokoro safaris as you wish, depending on the group consensus between the other guests and the camp guide. This consensus is required because there is only the one guide and one game drive vehicle available for the maximum seven guests. Each walk lasts for 3-4 hours and you'll usually head off in the early morning and again in the afternoon, though sometimes you’ll be driven to a start point a little way from camp. These are not route marches, but opportunities to explore the environment and wildlife with an expert guide, and to gain an authentic taste of the bush. This area of the Okavango Delta is notable for the diversity of wildlife and lion, wild dog and hyena are often seen in the area, along with a variety of plains game. Lone bull elephants are also found most of the year, whilst breeding herds migrate here towards the end of the dry season.
