City tour and afternoon visit to craft shops
After a relaxing night and refreshing breakfast, meet your professional Guide along with the Local Guide/Interpreter and embark on a morning city tour of Ethiopia's capital city.
Later in the afternoon proceed on a visit to craft shops, garments and check out the beautiful prints of fabric this country has to offer.

Commercial flight to Lalibela
Early rise and a hearty breakfast, check out of the hotel.
Your guide will assist transfer the luggage to the minivan and drive to the airport for your onward flight out of Addis Ababa en route Lalibela.
A morning flight is usually recommended; preferably one that departs at 08:10 AM and arrives at 09:10AM.
Located in the Amhara region of Northern Ethiopia, Lalibela is the antique home to the subterranean monoliths. Besides being a fascinating historical attraction, these are also considered to be Ethiopia’s most pilgrimage sites for Coptic Christians.
Arriving early will give you an opportunity to wander this medieval town and explore the world-famous rock-hewn churches here. There are three clusters of churches carved out of rock; the huge Bete Medhane Alem, and cross-shaped Bete Giyorgis which date back from the 12th and 13th centuries.
The afternoon will be spent visiting each one of them.

Highlights of Lalibela town
After breakfast at leisure, start on your visit to the Yemrehana Krestos monastery, an old Orthodox church built out of stone and wood within a large cavern.
Learn more about its history that goes back as far as the 11th century in the architectural tradition of the ancient Kingdom of Aksum.
Break off for lunch at the well-known Ben Abebe restaurant. Erected in a strategic location on a raised plane, the restaurant offers magnificent views across the valleys as you enjoy your meal.
The afternoon is spent at leisure mingling around with the locals and testing the remarkable Ethiopian coffee. Shop around for souvenirs to take back home in the local craft markets and finish in time to catch the beautiful sunset.

Fly back to Addis Ababa for your onward flight back home
After a hearty breakfast, take time to pack your bags and check out to transfer by road to Lalibela Airport in time for a connecting flight from Addis Ababa.
Arrive in Addis in time for a farewell lunch at one of the many restaurants in Addis Ababa to mark the end of your trip with us.
