Depart for Kruger via Panorama Route & Blyde River Canyon, overnight at Forever Resorts Swadini

We head for the Panorama Route with Blyde River Canyon, the only Green Canyon and the third largest Canyon on Earth. We visit various Water Falls, Mac Mac and Berlin Falls along the route then stop in at The Pinnacle, God’s Window where we visit the Rain Forest before heading North to Bourkes Luck Potholes a spectacular geological feature where we will prepare Lunch, there is a small Museum that we visit. The communities in the area produce a variety of Curios, Souvenirs and trinkets that they sell at stalls at the various features we visit along the Panorama Route. These are worth a look and of course if you purchase something you are assisting the Community. We then head further North to the Three Rondawels in our opinion the most striking View along the Panorama Route before ending up at Forever Resorts Swadini which we usually only arrive at quite late, for a Delicious Barbeque Dinner.

Explore the Satara area, well known as Cat Central with the S100 Route to Nwanetsi & Sweni Hide

Tonight we are again overnighting in Satara, well known as Cat Central where Lion’s, Leopards and Cheetah’s are often seen close to camp, Satara is definitely worth the extra night and it does mean that we can get out into the park really early on one day. We will do the S100 N’Wanetsi River Road stopping in at Gudzani Dam, Sweni Hide and having Lunch at N’Wanetsi Picnic Site with an awesome View Point. We head back to Satara and spend the hottest part of the day in camp around the pool before heading out for our afternoon Game Drive after consulting the Camp Sightings Board to see what has been spotted and where. If there are any great sightings and believe us the Satara area deserves its reputation for great Cat Sightings then we go in search of them. Time permitting we will do the Sweni River Road, Rhino & lions are often spotted in this area & this road has been a very fruitful road for us on many occasions.

Satara to Skukuza along the Famous H1 Route with the Sabie, Sand River loop with Lake Panic Hide

After a Delicious Breakfast of Rocky Road Muesli with Yogurt and Rusks we head from Skukuza to Satara via Tshokwane Picnic Site where we will prepare Lunch for the group. A rather long game drive this morning, nearly 100 Km but usually a very fruitful one since we follow the Sabie River Road and the animals congregate along the Water Courses. There are numerous Natural Dams and Man Made Water Holes along the route. Mazithi and Kumana Dams often offer great sightings of Plains Game, Elephants, Hippo’s and Crocodiles. Skukuza has a great shop where you can peruse books, clothing and Souvenirs. We will prepare Lunch for the group in Skukuza. There is a delightful area of the Camp that overlooks the Sabie River. We have time to visit Lake Panic where we can go into a Hide. As well as being a birders paradise we often see the Hippo’s yawning and grunting in their most unusual way here at Lake Panic. We will prepare a Full Dinner in camp.

Skukuza to Berg En Dal where the largest density of Rhino are in the Park, visit Matjulu Water Hole

We will likely see a lot of plains game such as Zebra, Blue Wildebeest and other Antelope as well as Giraffe, Elephant and Buffalo. There is the lovely Afsaal Picnic Site where we will enjoy a scrumptious Luncheon before heading to Berg En Dal. The Berg En Dal Rest Camp is excellent and there is a Swimming Pool to cool off on hot days. Matjulu Water Hole is an excellent destination for a late afternoon Game Drive and we will most likely spot Rhino and Elephant here. There are some very rare Antelope like the Roan and Sable in the area which are always a lucky spot. We have a Full Dinner in camp.

Berg En Dal to OR Tambo via Nelspruit after a last Game Drive to ease us back into reality

We utilise the back wall of the Safari Vehicle as a white board to track the daily game sightings we have had on Safari and by now it usually looks rather impressive. Take a snap shot of the sightings board with your mobile phone or camera to remind you of exactly what we have seen over the last 5 days and jog your memory when you are back home telling stories of your African Safari to your Friends and Family. We do squeeze in a last game drive before exiting the park at Malelane Gate and heading West to Nelspruit and on to Johannesburg where we say our good byes.
