Upon arrival our tour guide will pick you from Entebbe International Airport. Depending on your arrival time, you can choose to spend the night in Entebbe or be transferred to a hotel in Kampala. Upon arriving at your hotel, the guide will brief you on your tour before you check-in. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 2

Lake Mburo National Park

Lake Mburo National Park

You will depart Entebbe after breakfast for Lake Mburo National Park. The drive takes 4-5 hours with stopovers at attractions such as the Royal Drummakers’ center and at the equator. At the latter you’ll have the opportunity to stand in both the northern and southern hemispheres at the same time. You will continue through the savannah grasslands dotted with human homesteads, banana plantations, and several herds of long horned Ankole cattle, which are endemic to this part of the country. You will have lunch at the lodge, after which you will go for a boat trip on Lake Mburo. The lake is rich with a variety of water animals such as hippos, crocodiles, and bird species.

Day 3

Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, you will have an early morning game drive through the park in search of plains game like zebra, hippos, crocodiles, eland, antelope, impala, and a variety of birds. You will return to your lodge for breakfast and then take a guided nature walk. This walk takes you to the salt lick area, which offers you a chance to see at least four different animal species at as they lick the salty soil.

Day 4

Lake Mburo - Lake Bunyonyi

Lake Mburo - Lake Bunyonyi

After an early breakfast, you will set off for the southwestern part of the country and Lake Bunyonyi. This lake is said to be one of the most beautiful places in western Uganda. It is the second deepest lake in Africa [900 meters] and also one of the few places in the country where it is considered safe to swim (as it is bilharzias free). The landscape around the lake is made up of terraced hills protruding from the water’s edge. Bunyonyi means “place of little birds” and as the name suggests, there is plenty of bird life around the lake. You’ll check in at the resort before taking a canoe ride.

Day 5

After an early breakfast, you will set out for a boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi. In the afternoon you’ll go for a canoe ride touring different islands. You can swim in the lake or hike to a nearby viewpoint. In the afternoon we’ll transfer to Bwindi, where you will do a nature walk or participate in a cultural experience with the local Batwa community. You will go through their villages to experience how they go about their daily routines and be amazed at the way they skillfully cultivate the hill sides and care for their animals. Later you’ll return to the camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing with the guides before you begin your search for the giant gorillas. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is renowned for its thick forest and impressive mountain gorillas, although it is unpredictable how long you will track before finding them (since it all depends on their movement). Irrespective of how long it takes to track them, spending time and observing these gentle giants is a rare, moving, awesome, and exciting adventure that will leave you with long lasting memories. Later you’ll return for lunch and then transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you will arrive in the late evening.

Day 7

Queen Elizabeth National Park

After your breakfast you will be taken to the Ishasha sector, which is famous for the tree climbing lions lounging in the tree branches. All of them are keeping a close eye on herds of Uganda kob, their favorite prey! In the afternoon you will take a cruise along the amazing Kazinga channel to see the water animals at close range, include hippos, buffalos, crocodiles, and elephants bathing on the channel banks. There is also a variety of bird species here, including famous shoebill, pelican, and Jacana.

Day 8

Kibale National Park

After breakfast you will go for a brief morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth before making your way to scenic craters and crater lakes along the western Ugandan Explosion Crater Lake Trail. After lunch you’ll transfer to Kibale National Park and check in at your lodge for some rest before your evening nature walk in the Bigodi swamp. You’ll do some birding here and take in the abundant number of butterflies. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.

Day 9

Kibale National Park

After breakfast we’ll head to Kibale Forest with our packed lunch in hand to view the chimps. The activity begins at 8:00am with a briefing on the trek rules, after which you’ll set off to search for the chimpanzee in the forest. Along the way during this half-day journey, you will see other primates such as grey cheeked mangabeys, phoestes, red-colobus, and the blue-tailed and red-tailed monkeys swinging in the branches of this thick forest. Your guide will teach you about the animals, plants, and insects you see along the way. Approximately 5,000 chimpanzees live in the wild in Uganda, which makes it a perfect place to spot them! Once you locate the chimpanzees, you will spend some time with them learning their behaviors before returning to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 10

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Murchison Falls National Park (an approximately 7-8 drive). We’ll head straight to the top of these majestic falls, where the Nile River crashes through a seven-meter gorge before falling 45 meters below. Numerous scenic viewpoints make this place a photographers’ delight. The most impressive view is of the foaming waters rushing into the gorge with a deafening roar. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.

Day 11

Murchison Falls National Park

Murchison Falls National Park

You will set off at 6:30am to the northern bank of Nile River for a sunrise game drive in the Nyamsika plateau, where you will see Cape buffaloes and Rothschild’s giraffes. You may also spot oribi, warthog, bush pig and large carnivores such as lions, leopards, and spotted hyenas. Crocodiles and hippos can be seen along the riverbanks. Some of the more common birds that are found here include goliath heron, hornbill, cormorant, saddle-bill stork, and the rare shoebill stork. You will return for lunch and some relaxation before setting off in the afternoon for a boat cruise upstream on the placid Victoria Nile to the base of the falls. En route you will see hippos, crocodiles, water buck, and a wide variety of birds. The boat stops just tens of meters from the “Devil’s Cauldron” for pictures to be taken of the photogenic and majestic Murchison Falls. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.

After an early morning breakfast, you will be driven to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. After a briefing from the ranger, you’ll walk through the sanctuary for close to two hours. Later you’ll transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe and eat lunch en-route.
