Day 1

Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

After Breakfast, you will drive to Lake Bunyonyi located on the Eastern side of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Your guide will make stopovers at the Equator crossing in Kayabwe for photography, a brief talk and some experiments before you head to Mbarara town for lunch. You will then drive past beautiful banana plantations, farms and the amazing Hills of Kigezi. You will arrive in the evening and check-in at Rushaga Gorilla Gorilla Camp in Western Uganda.

Day 2

Gorilla Trekking

Gorilla Trekking

Early morning you will start your gorilla trek. Bwindi, a World Heritage Park, is home to just over half of the world’s last surviving mountain gorilla population of 880 individuals. Today’s trek can take from one to six hours, sometimes more, at elevations in excess of 2,270 m (7,500 ft) and over rough terrain. The area around Buhoma is an excellent place for watching primates and birds and you may catch a glimpse of the noisy but evasive Chimpanzees or the beautiful Horn bills and Turaco. The forest is home to 120 species of mammals, 346 species of birds, 202 species of butterflies, and 163 species of trees, making it one of the richest ecosystems in Africa. You will be allowed to stay in the presence of the gorillas for at least an hour before returning to your lodge.

Day 3

Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast we will drive to Kibale National Park for overnight at Chimpanzee Forest Guest House. This journey will take you through Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will have chances of spotting some wild game as we drive through this Savannah dominated national park. You will also have another chance to cross the Equator at Kikolongo. You will also cross several Rivers that originate from Mountain Rwenzori as you go through Kasese district to Fort Portal. You will have a stop in Fort Portal towm for lunch before proceeding to checking-in at Chimpanzee Forest Guest House for overnight.

Day 4

Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest National Park

Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, you will drive to Kibale National Park Headquarters for briefing on the Dos and Don’ts of Chimpanzee trekking. You will be divided into small groups of six people headed by one guide who will then move with you into the forest to find one of the Chimpanzee families. Chimpanzees live in communities of between 50-150 individuals but usually breakup into small parties during the day to reduce competition on food. They will then recollect in the evening to build their nests. Once you find the Chimps, you will be allowed to spend one hour with the Chimps before returning to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, you head out for wetland walk in the nearby Bigodi Village. Kibale National Park is popular for 12 recorded primates species and several bird species.

Day 5

To Kampala/Entebbe or Airport

To Kampala/Entebbe or Airport

After breakfast, you will drive to Kampala/Entebbe for your departure at Entebbe International Airport for your international departure. We shall have a lunch stop in Mubende and a stop in mitiyana for a photo moment, arrive early in Entebbe visit the botanical gardens then have dinner before your tour guide drops you at the airport.
