Day 1

You will have a meet and greet on arrival at the airport by our driver-guide. You will depart for Masai Mara via the Great Rift Valley viewpoint and pass by Narok town to arrive at Masai Mara in time for lunch followed by a late afternoon game drive. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the lodge.

Day 2

Today, you will have a full day in Nairobi with a tour of Nairobi’s David Sheldrick where you will see a young orphaned baby elephant that is taken good care of as you watch. You will drive towards Ngong Hills and pass Ngong Village to the Karen Blixen Museum which was the home of Karen Blixen for many years. You will have lunch and later proceed to the Giraffe Centre to see and feed the famous Rothschild giraffe and her family. You will return to the hotel for an overnight stay on a bed-and-breakfast basis.

Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve

After breakfast, you will depart Nairobi and drive through the central part of Kenya rich with agricultural activities to Samburu National Reserve located in the semi-arid land in the North Frontier District. The land is characterized by rugged terrains dominated by dramatic hills with acacia and Doum palm trees along the Ewaso Nyiro River, the lifeline of this beautiful arid land. It is also home to fantastic birdlife and rare species of animals including Somali ostrich, besia oryx, gerenuk, gravy zebra, reticulated giraffe, and greater Kudu. The reserve is a good place to watch elephants and big cats. You will arrive in time for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive. You will have dinner and an overnight stay at Samburu Intrepids Tented Camp on a full-board basis.

You will have a full day at Samburu with morning and afternoon game drives searching for more animals. The land is characterized by rugged terrains dominated by dramatic hills with acacia and Doum palm trees along the Ewaso Nyiro River. Samburu National Reserve to Lake Nakuru National Park

You will have an early breakfast and depart to Lake Nakuru National Park which was created to protect the huge flocks of over a million lesser and greater flamingos that breed and nest at the edge of Lake Nakuru, giving it the characteristic pink rim. You will have a stop-over at the scenic Thomson’s Falls for rest. You will proceed with the drive crossing the equator and then down the east wall of the Great Rift Valley to Nakuru. You will enjoy an afternoon game drive where you will have a chance to see the endangered white rhinos. Other wildlife found here include lions, leopards, zebras, gazelles, eland, giraffes, and the hyrax. You will have dinner and an overnight stay at Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge and Spa on a full-board basis.

After breakfast, you will depart heading southwest to Masai Mara National Reserve arriving in time for lunch at your camp. In the afternoon, you will go for game drives across the beautiful dotted plains of Mara in search of a large pride of lions and other cat families species like several cats, cheetahs, and leopards. There are also herbivores like topi, hartebeest, oribi as well as many other mammals, reptiles and amphibian species. You will have dinner and an overnight stay at Sarova Mara Game Camp on a full-board basis.

Masai Mara National Reserve to Nairobi

You will have an early morning game drive at sunrise when predators are active with the morning hunt of big cats. You will have an opportunity to capture a lion making a kill as most of the time lions kill very early in the morning before sunrise. You will also experience the beauty of sunrise which reveals the backdrop of Masai Mara which means the dotted hills in Maasai language. Later, you will return to the lodge for the main breakfast. After breakfast, you will depart Masai Mara with the last picturesque of the Mara arriving in Nairobi late in the afternoon. You will be dropped at either your hotel or airport to connect with your home-bound journey depending on the arrangements where the safari ends.
