Day 1

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, immediately leave Kampala and start the drive southwards to Queen Elizabeth National Park, with exciting views of the countryside.
Drive through the Masaka – Ankole dry cattle corridor with rolling hills and farmlands in view. Make a stop at the equator and Igongo country hotel for lunch. Proceed on the journey till you reach the lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park in the afternoon and spend the entire evening enjoying impressive views over the sweeping savannah, explosion craters, wandering wildlife and Kyambura underground forest.

Day 2

Discover Queen Elizabeth National Park in a cool morning after breakfast. Go for an early game drive that exposes you to diverse savannah game, including some members of Big 5 - Elephants, Buffaloes and big cats – Lions and Leopards. Other small animals include warthogs - Hunchback carnivals like Hyenas and many more species that are residents of this park spotted along the Circuits as you drive along.
There is rich bird diversity especially the family of storks in the wetlands and the lesser flamingoes in the salt lakes. After lunch, it is time for the 3pm boat cruise along Kazinga channel, which lasts 2 hours. Here you have the chance to spot hippos, buffaloes, crocodiles and more along the banks of the channel.

Day 3

Transfer to Bwindi forest via Ishasha sector

Transfer to Bwindi forest via Ishasha sector

Transfer through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park on your way to Bwindi. This area is known for its tree-climbing lions. In Ishasha you will drive off in this vast savannah wilderness filled with Topis and the southern version of Elephants. Hopefully and luckily, you will get a chance to see lions resting high in the fig tree branches.
After this encounter, continue with a transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable NP. Here you will experience a change in the landscape from flat savanna, via cultivated hills to jungle covered mountains. If you reach early, take a village walk and mix with the local Batwa pygmies who will entertain you with exciting performances and traditional songs.

Day 4

Have breakfast and get ready for the big highlight of this 6 days safari. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to the forest giants - mountain gorillas; and on this day, you get to meet them. You will set off into the forest with a specialized guide, trek through beautiful nature and finally get to spend one hour in the area where the mountain gorillas live.
But besides the gorillas, this Impenetrable forest is filled with birds, butterflies and plant species plus forest hogs, Forest Elephants, Sitatungas and forest duikers.
After the trek transfer to the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi, located amidst the terraced hills of Kabale. You may take a leisurely canoe tour to explore some lush islands that make up this lake.

Day 5

Transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe

Have an early morning breakfast overlooking the mystical Bunyonyi and thereafter embark on a drive back to Kampala with a stopover at equator monument and lunch in Mbarara. Drive back through to Kampala/Entebbe where your guide drops you at the airport for onward journey.
