Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park

Depart from Dar es Salaam at 0830am. Drive directly to Mikumi by 4x4 safari Jeep. You will arrive in the park after 4 hours depending on the traffic on the highway, lunch at Morogoro Town then drive into Mikumi National Park. You will go on afternoon game drives until late in the evening. You will be able to see many animals like elephants, giraffes, lions, antelopes, and many more. Mikumi National Park provides an excellent opportunity to view a diverse number of animals and birds in a short period of time without too much driving around. Thereafter drive back to your hotel arrival ready for dinner and overnight will be at the Camp Bastian Mikumi.

Mikumi National Park Game Drive

After breakfast has a full day game drive in the park and sees the beauty of Mikumi National Park. The wildlife viewing experience in this park can be experienced right upon entering the park where you can encounter baboons, zebras, and impalas just to mention a few. You will have the opportunity to view the unique Mikumi Giraffes that naturalists say seem to be a crossbreed between reticulated and Maasai Giraffes. Lions can be easily sported in this park. You will have a game drive around the park trail leading you to the hippo pool, which is the best visited during the late afternoons as the distant setting sun and the bobbing hippos heads create perfect pictures. After spotting the wallowing buffaloes at the Mkata flood plains and the elephants congregating near the water hole, drive back to your camp for dinner and overnight at the Camp Bastian Mikumi.

Mikumi National Park to Dar es Salaam

After an early breakfast, have a sunrise game drive in Mikumi National Park, then with picnic lunches go on game drive until the afternoon. Later you will drive back to Dar es Salaam and arrive around 1700 hrs.
