Day 1

We pick you up at the hotel/airport and leave for Meru National Park to arrive in good time for lunch and rest. In the afternoon, we head out for a game drive. Enjoy tracking white rhino, Cape buffalo, cheetah, gerenuk, Beisa oryx, reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra, elephant, African lion, and leopard in the vast park. Meru National Park was also the former home of the famous Joy and George Adamson, from the “Born Free” book and film. You will have dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 2

Meru National Park

After breakfast, we leave for a full-day game drive. Wild animals to be spotted in Meru National Park include large herds of buffalo, bushbuck, eland, duiker, elephant, gazelle, giraffe, genet, hartebeest, kudu, impala, waterbuck and Grevy's zebra. You will also spot baboon, jackal, hyena, lion, oryx, mongoose, oribi, vervet monkey, and warthog. In addition, you may see wild dog, caracal, bushbaby, cheetah, dik-dik, civet, leopard, bushpig, otter, porcupine, and black and white rhino. Along the rivers, you will see abundant hippos and crocodiles. Birdlife includes Peter’s finfoot, which inhabits the Murera and Ura Rivers, as well as Pel’s fishing owl. You will also spot rollers, bee-eaters, kingfishers, starlings, and numerous weavers. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

Meru National Park – Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Meru National Park – Ol Pejeta Conservancy

After breakfast, leave for Ol Pejeta Conservancy to arrive in good time for lunch and a rest. In the afternoon, visit Sweetwater’s Sanctuary, home to the only two remaining northern white rhinos. You will also visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary which is home to abused and orphaned chimpanzees. Here, they are trained to survive in the wild. You will have dinner and your overnight stay at the camp.

After breakfast, leave for a full-day game drive. We will have two extensive game drives, exploring the exotic Sweetwater’s Sanctuary. As our camp overlooks one of the best waterholes in the area, this will give us a good view of the wildlife such as elephants, giraffes, and a myriad of plains game, among others. Sweetwater boasts of excellent game viewing experiences with the highest ratio of game in the area compared to other parks or reserves in Kenya. You will return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

There is an optional boat ride on the lake with a visit to Crescent Island at an extra cost. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Today, after breakfast, will be a game viewing extravaganza. Masai Mara National Reserve remains the most exciting wildlife ecosystem in the world. It is host to the highest and most varied concentration of wild animals than any other wildlife park in the region. The scenic appeal of the tree-studded savannah plains, the moderate climate, and the diversity of wild game species makes it a one-stop-shop for game viewing activities. We will traverse the Masai Mara Reserve on wildlife viewing drives, encountering the Big Five and more of the lesser game. You will visit the Mara River to watch hippos and crocodiles. In the evening, return to your camp for dinner and overnight.
