Day 1

Diani – Tsavo West (5-Hour Drive)

Diani – Tsavo West (5-Hour Drive)

At 04h30, your Africa Kenya Safaris driver/guide will pick you up to start your 4-day journey in a private 4x4 Land Cruiser Jeep. You’ll head to Mombasa via the Likoni Channel ferry and travel down the Mombasa-Nairobi highway as the African sun breaks upon the land. You’ll have opportunities for rest stops along the way and the chance to get refreshments.

We should arrive at Tsavo West in time for lunch. Refresh at your accommodation and then get ready for an afternoon game drive. You’ll be looking for the big game and by late afternoon, we’ll head for the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, home to over 80 of the unusual, shy creatures. If we're lucky, we just may spot a few. As the sun begins to set, we’ll make our way back to our safari lodge or tented camp for a relaxing dinner and rest.

Tsavo West – Amboseli (2½-Hour Drive)

We’ll be up with the birds, or maybe even before that, to catch the sunrise and the dawning light upon the park’s rolling hills. This is a quiet, peaceful time to explore the natural world. We’ll head over to Mzima Springs and leave our 4x4 to walk along the cool, shaded banks. We'll look for hippos and crocodiles, along with other wildlife attracted to the clear waters here. We will then enjoy a final game drive through the park as we exit and journey to Amboseli.

You’ll soon spot the towering Mt. Kilimanjaro in the distance, a sign that the park can’t be far off. We will spend the afternoon on a relaxed game drive, and we should find plenty of free-ranging elephants. The great mountain serves as a perfect backdrop. We’ll head to our Amboseli accommodation for dinner and relaxation.

Amboseli – Tsavo East (5-Hour Drive)

We’ll be up early, not only to catch the sunrise, but to possibly spot Mt Kilimanjaro's snow-capped peak, weather permitting. It is then time to hit the trail and see what we can spot before heading back for breakfast.

We’ll grace the park with one more game drive as we exit, now heading for Tsavo East. We should arrive at the park in time for an afternoon safari over its expansive territory, looking for large and small game. As the sun begins to set and the park cools down, we’ll take an easy drive to our Tsavo East accommodation for a relaxing dinner.

Day 4

Tsavo East – Diani Beach (5-Hour Drive)

Tsavo East – Diani Beach (5-Hour Drive)

As this is our last day on safari, we don’t want to miss any chance to spot a lion or leopard. We’ll be up and exploring the park, especially its famous watering holes like Mudanda Rock, the Aruba Dam, or the Galana River. The park’s thirsty wildlife gather at these spots for their refreshing waters in this otherwise dry terrain. We’ll also look for the Tsavo lions, cheetahs, buffalos, giraffes, gazelles, and many others. Lunch will be served in an open-air restaurant overlooking the great expanse of the park.

Then it’s time to head back to the coast. You’ll be taking lots of photos and memories with you from your 4 days on safari. We hope you had an incredible adventure. Thank you for your patronage and your trust in Africa Kenya Safaris.
