5-Day Timbavati Photographic Workshop

• You'll be collected from the airport.

Walkers River Camp

You will arrive at Walkers River Camp at 2pm.

Walkers River Camp is an approximate 5-hour drive from Johannesburg. Access is via the Timbavati.

You will be met by Lance and Kirstin upon arrival.

The lodge is located a convenient 5 minute drive from the Timbavati gate. The gate also lies on the property of Walkers River Lodge, so no entry fees are payable.

After checking in and receiving a briefing, a light lunch will be served before the first game drive. On the first drive Lance will assess the levels of photographic skill and knowledge, as well as chat about the planning of future images you may try and take.

The game drive will be approximately 3-3.5 hours long, stopping to photograph interests along the way.

After the drive you will return to the lodge to freshen up before dinner is served.

Safari Time

Day two starts of early, with a coffee of tea up at the main lodge deck. This is normally always filled with excitement as guests compare what animal species they heard calling in the night.

Once ready, we then depart on our second game drive in search of big cats and great photographic opportunities. We will spend the morning photographing anything of interest we find along the way, making sure we try new and different techniques when appropriate.

After the morning safari (approximately 3 hours) we will return to the lodge for breakfast, a short teaching session, a dip in the pool, some relaxation time and a light lunch. This is also a great time to download your images and prepare for the afternoon drive.

We will then depart on the afternoon drive again.

After the pm drive we will once again return to camp where we will enjoy a well deserved dinner before heading in for the night in preparation for the next day.

End of tour

Day five is check out day, but not before getting in one last morning game drive.

After the drive we sit to have one last breakfast together, before departing for home.
