Day 1

You will be met and assisted on arrival at Dar es Salaam International Airport and be transferred to Msasani Peninsula for check-in and to refresh. Go on an optional evening nature walk or relax at the pool and cliffs along the Indian Ocean. You will overnight at Slipway Hotel (or similar) in Dar es Salaam.

Day 2

Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park

Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park

Go on an early drive at 05h30 to Mikumi National Park. Stop at the local restaurant in Msolwa at 07h30 for breakfast, then continue to Mikumi for a late lunch at the camp.

You will have the opportunity to view the unique Mikumi giraffe that naturalists say seems to be a crossbreed between the reticulated and Maasai giraffe. Lion, elephant, buffalo, wildebeest, and leopard can easily be spotted in this park. Your game drive will also take you to the hippo pool to view the hippos. You will be able to see elephants drinking at the waterhole. Enjoy your game drive till sunset then drive to the camp.
At 19h00, have dinner and overnight outside the park at Camp Bastian.

Mikumi National Park to Ruaha National Park

At 06h00, go on an early game drive with a packed lunch in Mikumi National Park, and then drive to Ruaha National Park via Iringa town (Mkwawa City). You will pass through farms and villages with beautiful landscapes and the Great Rift Valley, arriving at Ruaha National Park in the late afternoon. Have a game drive en-route to your lodge with a chance to see elephants, giraffes, kudus, lions, leopards, jackals, hyenas, African wild dogs, and many more.

You will have dinner and your overnight stay outside the park at Ruaha Hilltop.

After breakfast at 07h00, you will have a full-day game drive in Ruaha National Park with your packed lunch box. The park is almost as large as the Serengeti, and with its untouched nature remains one of the most exciting game reserves. It is a birdwatcher's paradise with 350 different species of birds. Wildlife is concentrated along the Great Ruaha River which is the heart of the wildlife in the park, such as waterbuck, impala, and Grant's gazelle. The shores of the Great Ruaha River is the permanent hunting ground for lion, leopard, jackal, hyena, and African wild dog. Enjoy the fascinating beauty of the Ruaha National Park, and thereafter drive back to your lodge.

After breakfast at 07h00, you will have a full-day game drive in Ruaha National Park with your lunch box. It is the largest national park in Tanzania and is great for wildlife viewing, including the greater kudu. It’s unique for spotting predators like prides of lion and the endangered wild dog. Elephants and a big variety of antelope species are another big draw to this park which has outstanding wilderness appeal.

Have an early breakfast at 06h00, and then go on a morning game drive in Ruaha Park en-route to the exit. You will pass through farms along the Uluguru Mountains and villages with en-route sightseeing to Morogoro.
Arrive at the Farm Retreat for dinner and overnight at Mbuyuni Farm.

Nyerere National Park

After breakfast at 07h00, you will drive to Nyerere National Park (Selous Game Reserve). Have lunch at a picnic site. You will pass through the countryside and have nice scenery and beautiful valleys and mountains. You will arrive at the camp/lodge to relax at leisure till the afternoon at around 03h30. Proceed with a boat game drive to explore the fauna and flora for about 2 hours in the Great Rufiji River till sunset. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery with a lot of wild animals and many species of birds. Return for dinner and overnight outside the park at Africa Safari Selous Camp.

After breakfast, depart at 07h00 for a full-day game drive in Nyerere National Park with a picnic lunch. The park was formerly called “Selous Game Reserve” and gained national park status in 2019. It is the largest national park in Africa, covering an area of 30,000km2. The park’s history and sense of mystique adds to its attractions. It was named after Fredrick Courtney Selous, a well-renowned explorer and British army officer in the Royal Fusiliers. Selous was killed in combat along the Rufiji River which flows through the park. Today, it takes its name from Julius Nyerere, the first president of Tanzania, widely viewed as the father of the modern nation.

Arrive for dinner and your overnight stay outside the park at Africa Safari Selous.

After breakfast, depart at 07h00 for a full-day or half-day game drive in Nyerere National Park with lunch at a picnic site. It is one of the largest fauna reserves in the world, covering 50,000km2. The reserve is bigger than Switzerland, 3 times bigger than the Kruger National Park, and twice as big as the Serengeti. The reserve has a higher density and diversity of species than any other miombo woodland area in Africa.

At 19h00, you have dinner and an overnight stay outside the park at Africa Safari Selous Camp

Optional: Go on an early morning walking safari with an armed ranger.
