Road Transfer to Greater Kruger Bush Camp, Arrive for Tea and Then Enjoy an Orientation Game Drive

You'll have a 6-hour road transfer from Johannesburg to the Greater Kruger to your private bush camp.
Afternoon tea and cake are served on arrival or you can choose cold bears and savoury snacks. Relax after check-in and then for those up to it, there is a short game drive, just to get out and get the feel of the land; a 8000 ha section of the Balule Game Reserve—the Maseke section. The area is varied and diverse with numerous dramatic rocky outcrops (or ‘Koppies”) and beautiful sections of Olifants River frontage. All of the Big Five can be sighted as well as most of the other species that occur in the world-class, Kruger National Park. At sunset, we'll pause for drinks and snacks at some lovely viewpoint, salute the day and the setting sun. Back in camp, the shower is hot and a fire awaits in the “boma” where we will meet for pre-dinner drinks and the evening meal.
Your accommodation is in traditional “rondavels”—a round, thatched, free-standing hut with an en-suite bathroom.

Day 2

Enjoy Your Private Bush Camp with Morning and Afternoon Game Drives in Balule Private Nature Reserve

Enjoy Your Private Bush Camp with Morning and Afternoon Game Drives in Balule Private Nature Reserve

Wake up at first light for coffee and “rusks” before setting off on a 3-hour game drive in an open vehicle with an experienced and knowledgeable safari guide. The drive meanders with winding bush tracks of the Balule with the ridges and valleys and endless vistas. Your guide will stop often to point out birds and of course all the animal species you encounter. The animal tracks in the sand help locate animals that have passed this way. Along the way, a refreshment stop is planned and hot drinks and muffins are enjoyed around the vehicle.
Back in camp, a full breakfast has been prepared, with fresh fruits and a continental offering of cheese and cold meats as well as a cooked English breakfast. Coffee and tea are always on offer and a fully stocked bar offers cold drinks. There is a waterhole at camp where animals come to drink and a swimming pool with sun loungers where you can pass time until meals or game drives punctuate your leisure time.
You'll have a 3-hour afternoon game drive.

Day 3

Kruger National Park Day Tour-Central Section of Kruger;Orpen Gate to Letaba Rest Camp

Kruger National Park Day Tour-Central Section of Kruger;Orpen Gate to Letaba Rest Camp

Have an early start and head south to the Orpen Gate into the Kruger National Park and then enjoy the open plains found around Satara Rest Camp heading North to Letaba to exit the park at sunset via the Phalaborwa gate. The Orpen / Satara area of the Kruger has a Gabro Dyke as the underlying parent rock, giving rise to soils that support an open savannah system. This is the preferred habitat of herds of wildebeest and zebras and the predators that hunt them. Cheetahs also prefer open areas and white rhinos can also be sighted. Heading North to Letaba, we will have breakfast at a picnic spot and stop at a rest camp for some souvenirs and, time and inclination willing, we visit the informative Elephant Museum. We will exit the national park at Phalaborwa Gate, only a short distance from home at the bush camp. Enjoy relaxing in the camp before dinner is served.

Day 4

Enjoy Your Private Bush Camp and View Over the Waterhole with Game Drives at Dusk and Dawn

Enjoy Your Private Bush Camp and View Over the Waterhole with Game Drives at Dusk and Dawn

This is a full day at your private bush camp enjoying its exclusive use by your group. With 3-hour morning and afternoon game drives, the rest of the day is spent relaxing in the camp at the pool and watching wildlife come to drink at the waterhole or some of the many Cape Buffalo who tend to hang around outside the camp. After the previous day's safaris as well as the day in the national park, there may be a few animals still on your wish list and maybe a newly awakened interest in birding is calling for action. The morning and afternoon game drives in Balule will be rewarding, as well as an evening in camp with campfire stories and drinks to share.
Enjoy a hot shower and a good night's sleep in a traditional rondavel with a flowing mosquito net. Listen to owls calling and a distant hyena.
