Upon your arrival at Bujumbura International Airport, you will meet our driver guide to welcome you with humbleness and a smile. With listening and caring, talking to you courteously, he will guide you to Club Du Lac Tanganyika for check-in. Depending on your arrival time, we may proceed with the Bujumbura city tour and visit some mausoleums including Prince Louis Rwagasore and the Unity Monument to learn how Burundi unified after the colonial period.

Day 2

After your breakfast, you will visit the Livingstone and Stanley Monument, which marks a location where the explorers Dr David Livingstone, journalist, and explorer Henry Morton Stanley visited and spent 2 nights on 25-27 November 1971.
Later, you will drive for about 3 hours passing through great sceneries and villages toward Rutana for a visit to the source of the White Nile. After your breakfast in one of the Rutana VIP restaurants, you will visit the Nyakazu fault also known as the German fault before you are transferred to Giteka, which is a one-hour car drive. The place (German fault) is historical but also natural. It evokes the resistance of King Mwambutsa’s soldiers toward German soldiers. You will learn how the German soldiers had been defeated during the war.

Later, you will be transferred to Gitega and stay there.

After your breakfast, you will drive about one hour to reach Gitega. You will be welcomed by royal drummers. You will be astonished by their rapidity of jumping in the air and how talented they are. You will just learn and imitate how to beat drums and dance. After your lunch in Gitega, you will go to visit the Gitega National Museum to learn more about Burundian culture before you drive around for 2 hours towards Rumonge and stay at Tanganyika Lodge.

After your breakfast, you will go to visit Masango Village in Rumonge, a tour that will bring you on board the local community to entertain you. You will learn more about the culture and lifestyles of Burundians through this village tour.
Later at around 11:00 am, you will cross the Burundi-DRC border and drive for around 3 hours to get to Bukavu. Later in the afternoon, you will visit Bambuti village, an indigenous tribe native to the island. You will reach Bukavu during lunchtime, and have lunch at Orchids' Safari Club Hotel. Later, go to make fun with the Bambuti village community, dance, cook, and canoe with them. After this, you will be transferred to your hotel.

After your breakfast, you will go trekking gorillas in Kahuzi Biega National Park. The trek usually requires 1-2.5 hours of hiking each way, depending on the location of the gorilla group being trekked and the difficulty of the terrain. After spending the allotted hour with the gorilla family group, you will make your way back to your hotel. After your lunch, in the afternoon, you will proceed with the Bukavu City tour.

After your breakfast, we will drive for about 1 hour to visit some cow farms in Bigogwe and get to learn how cows play great importance in Rwandan culture. They are a symbol of wealth, prosperity, and identity; you will get to know how they are used to pay marriage dowry and bride price. Milk is also important culturally. You will get to know all the associated cultural rites with it and how Rwanda has been dealing with the “Gira Inka Munyarwanda” program known as 'cows to all Rwandans' to facilitate Genocide survivors rebuilding themselves after the darkest period.
Later in the afternoon, you will have a walk in the indigenous village neighbouring the Volcano National Park, which will be rich in traditional and cultural spectaculars. After this, you will drive about 2 hours toward Kigali and stay at the Lebanon Hotel.

After your lunch in Bugesera, we will drive back to Kigali and go to experience the Nyamirambo Women's Group before you are transferred to your hotel. The Nyamirambo walking tour will offer you an experience on foot with Rwandan traditional snacks, and participate in a women’s hairdressing salon.
