Arrival and Sunset game drive in Chobe national park

Once you arrive at Victoria Falls International Airport (VFA), you will be picked up and transferred to Chobe (Botswana). You will travel deep into the Chobe National Park in search of Africa's Big Five. This is an excellent opportunity to see large herds of elephants drinking and playing in the river. On a Chobe Game Drive, you have the chance to see big cats such as lion and leopard. You can also see large game such as buffalo, giraffe, kudu and hippo. But most of all you can expect to experience an elephant encounter that will leave your heart pounding. Massive elephant herds numbering in their hundreds is a sight you will never forget. The experienced and professional guides will educate you on the national park and its inhabitants. Halfway through the Chobe Game Drive you will stop for refreshments in a safe area. Dinner follows, as always accompanied by the unforgettable sounds of the African night as you will be camping in the midst of the park.

Chobe game drive and boat cruise

Early in the morning after a quick cup of tea or coffee and a light Continental breakfast vehicles head off on an early morning game drive. This time of day is best for finding the big cats or the rare Wild Dogs as they are still active at this time and chances of seeing them are good. Around mid to late morning guests return to camp for a delicious “bush brunch” and a siesta getting an opportunity to read rest or take a refreshing shower. When the day starts to cool off guests board the boat and commence a 3-hour boat cruise into the Chobe National Park. The river cruise is considered one of the highlights of the trip, as one gets the opportunity to get up close and personal with fantastic birdlife, hippos, crocodiles, and of course scores of elephant and Cape buffalo that make their way down to the river to quench their thirst. Dinner follows, as always accompanied by the unforgettable sounds of the African night as you will be camping in the midst of the park.

Chobe game drive and Victoria falls drop off

Guests are woken at dawn with warm water being poured into their basins and a friendly Botswana “dumela” (good day). After a quick cup of tea or coffee and some cereal you head off on an early morning game drive. This time of day is best for finding the big cats as they are still active at this time and chances of seeing them are good. Around mid to late morning guests return to camp for a delicious “bush brunch” and an opportunity to take a refreshing shower. After packing up, you then leave the camp and be transferred back around 11am to your hotel in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.

Guided tour of the falls and Sunset Cruise

Day 4 commences with a morning pick-up at 09h00 from the hotel reception for a guided tour of Victoria Falls. You will be picked up by a driver-guide. The experience takes you through parts of the Victoria Falls rainforest to the cliffs opposite the massive cascade. A sunset cruise then awaits you. The pick-up time will be 15h30 in winter anD 16h00 in summer. You will cruise along the banks of the river. On this sunset cruise, you will sail up the mighty Zambezi River as the sun goes down. Immerse yourself in the natural delights of the golden Zimbabwean sunset as you observe birds flocking to the waters and watch animals arrive for their last drink of the day. All of this will happen while enjoying tasty finger foods and a full open bar to wrap up the day.

Victoria Falls Airport drop off

Transfers back to Victoria Falls International Airport (VFA) will be provided after the wonderful adventure. Pick-up times depend on the flight details, henceforth, Cuckoo Safaris normally picks up clients 2 hours before the departure time.
