Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by an Azas Safaris Uganda guide-driver who will welcome you to Uganda – the Pearl of Africa. You will be picked up very early in the morning and start your journey to Jinja. Along the way, you will see Mabira Forest for zip lining, sugar plantations in Lugazi, and finally, the world’s longest river, the Nile. Jinja lies on the shore of Lake Victoria, about 3 hours east of Kampala. This town is famous for being the historic source of the Nile River and at the same time the adrenaline capital of East Africa.

Besides enjoying peaceful sunsets, birdlife, and tranquility, this is also where visitors get their adventurous fix. Enjoy activities such as, quad biking, and horse riding. Jinja has a gorgeous natural setting with crumbling colonial architecture. It also has a vibrant downtown and broad leafy residential streets set next to the Nile River that you will also enjoy enjoy afternoon boat cruise at the source of the nile laiter proceed to the lodge for overnight.

Wake up with a hearty breakfast and proceed on your journey to the Sipi Falls in the Kumi District. You drive through the northeastern part of Uganda to the foothills of Mt Elgon to reach a plateau of 1,800m above sea level where the beautiful Sipi Falls is located. This green area has a spectacular series of waterfalls (some nearly 100m high), surrounded by village walking trails and lush green coffee-producing hills.

There are 3 falls separated by steep hillsides. It is quite cool here compared to the other parts of Uganda with temperate weather conditions. You will relax and enjoy the fresh air and the calm environment away from city hustles and traffic. Later in the day, a coffee tour and community visits are some of the activities you can enjoy besides the hikes.

Wake up in the morning for a sippi falls hike to view the falls and coffee tour and end sippi falls with abseiling. Transfer to moroto after having your lunch The Azas team strives to be innovative and takes responsibility by bringing you to places where no one else will go. One of these examples is Karamoja. Here, you can learn about the traditional life of the Karamojong, the most traditional tribe still living in Uganda arrive mototo and laiter you will leave for Moroto. On arrival, you will have a scenic nature walk through the highest mountain of Karamoja. Along the walk, we will set up camp at a traditional village of the So Tepeth mountain people.
After this, you'll meet the Karamajong living in a kraal, better known as a manyatta or boma in Swahili. A kraal is basically a village made out of huts surrounded by fences made of wood and thorns.

Wake up to the sights, sounds, and smells of pastoral life. After breakfast, we will continue our journey north through the rugged Karamoja scenery toward Kidepo Valley. In the morning, you can still enjoy the unique opportunity to spend more time with the Karamojong tribe. After this thrilling experience, it is time to travel to the most remote and pristine national park in the country - Kidepo Valley National Park.

In the rugged semi-arid valleys in the extreme northeast of Uganda, Kidepo Valley National Park lies hidden in a lost and infrequently-visited corner between Uganda’s borders with Sudan and Kenya. It is a long but very rewarding journey to get to this area with some of the most beautiful scenery in Uganda. You'll experience an afternoon game drive in the wild Narus Valley where herds of elephants and buffalos as well as beautiful sights of lions and leopards sitting on various valley rocks can be spotted.

Kidepo Valley National Park is one of the few parks in Uganda where you can do a walking safari. An armed ranger is joining you for your safety as you will explore the wilderness on foot. During this activity, you get the chance to experience the wildlife up close, a totally different experience than game viewing by car. Buffalo, waterbuck, giraffe, warthog, zebra, bushbuck, and of course naughty baboons can be seen all year round as well as many different bird species.

The guide stops regularly, not merely searching for game, but telling you about birds, insects, trees, animal droppings, the medicinal use of plants, and which animals eat which plants. This game park has a profusion of big game and hosts 475 bird species and over 80 mammal species, of which 28 were not known to occur (or very rarely) in any other Ugandan park. These include ostriches, zebras, bat-eared foxes, aardwolves, caracals, cheetahs, and greater and lesser kudus.

After an early breakfast, we’ll leave the camp and have one last chance to enjoy the beauty of Kidepo and maybe spot the animals we missed. From the park gates, it is a 2-hour drive through the rugged landscape (and roads!) of northern Uganda to Kitugum. It is then another hour to Gulu where we will stop for lunch. From Gulu, we’ll head south on good roads to the northern gates of Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda's best-known and biggest nature reserve.

With the impressive and powerful Murchison Waterfalls and its remarkable animal populations, this park is a must-visit in the "Pearl of Africa". We’ll have the opportunity to take a slow drive in the late afternoon through the park before setting up camp in the delta area of the park.

Game drive and the beautiful falls

After an early breakfast, it is time to explore the park. On the game drive, you will spot as many animals as possible. While driving through the park, you can come eye-to-eye with the African animal kingdom. Hopefully, you'll see them all; elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, different species of antelopes, and many tropical birds. They are all here! A professional ranger with extensive knowledge of the park and its inhabitants will join you in your car. The park is especially known for its massive elephant population, the huge array of bird species, and big herds of buffalo.

The afternoon boat cruise toward Murchison Falls is a very special activity. It takes approximately 3 hours and goes along the Victoria Nile to the base of the falls. If you like hiking, the boat can drop you near the waterfalls and you can hike up to the top (this takes around 1 to 1.5 hours). The views are amazing!

This park is popular for its primates like the chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, L'Hoest's monkeys, and Uganda mangabeys (Lophocebus ugandae). The drive is quite long but incredibly scenic – passing through villages, lush green countryside, and hills dotted with tea plantations that characterize this part of Uganda. The beautiful scenery will amaze you all the way. Upon arrival at the accommodation, check in and just relax.

Have breakfast and head to the rangers’ post where you will receive a briefing on the dos and don’ts during chimp trekking. Thereafter, you will proceed to trek the chimps in the Kibale Forest with an experienced ranger guide. The presence of primates here will surely amaze you. Once you locate the chimpanzees, you will have a full hour in their presence.

After lunch, you head out on the Bigodi Wetland excursion. Bigodi boasts an extensive array of bio-diversity including a number of primates and birds. Thereafter, you will return to your accommodation and rest.

Have a relaxed breakfast at the accommodation and then drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will arrive early enough to relax and have lunch. In the afternoon, you head out for game viewing. During the game drive, look out for animals like reedbuck, bushbuck, kob, warthog, elephant, lion, and buffalo to mention but a few.

Alternatively, you can choose to go on the breathtaking explosion crater drive. The drive is sightseeing with a very spectacular view of the breathtaking scenery in and around Queen Elizabeth National Park. There is also some wildlife to see along the drive although the most common are the sights of Cape buffalos and elephants. Return to the accommodation for relaxation, dinner, and your overnight stay.

Wake up with a hearty breakfast. Proceed for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains and be on the look for Cape buffalos, herds of elephants as well as lions and leopards (hard to spot) among others. Return to the accommodation for some rest and lunch.

After lunch, you will go for a 2-hour boat trip on the Kazinga Channel that connects Lake George and Lake Edward. During the trip, the sight of wildlife including giant hippos, elephants, and crocodiles among others will fascinate you. You will also see many varieties of birds on the water shores. Enjoy a relaxed breakfast and then travel to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park - famously known for its resident tree-climbing lions. The chance of spotting these lions is about 70% (though sometimes they are hard to spot, especially when they are down in the grassland looking for prey). Should you get to spot them, the sight is picturesque and memorable.

Wake up early in the morning have breakfast say bye bye to the isasha sector you will continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. With a strenuous day ahead, you will do less on arrival but just check in at your accommodation and relax as you prepare for the Bwindi gorilla-trekking experience the following day. The park forest located in south-western Uganda in the Kanungu District. The Bwindi forest is on the edge of the Albertine Rift, the western branch of the East African Rift, at elevations ranging from 1,160 to 2,607. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Reserve was set up in 1942 before it was later gazetted as a national park in 1992. Later in 1964, it was turned into an animal sanctuary in order to protect the mountain gorillas. If you describe something such as a barrier or a forest as impenetrable, you mean that it is impossible or very difficult to get through.

Wake up with a hearty breakfast and then move to the rangers’ post. You will receive a briefing on the dos and don’ts during trekking. Thereafter, you will enter the Bwindi Forest for your adventure. The area offers a dramatic, steeply-forested landscape and is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails, allowing access to tourists. The time it takes and the terrain varies with the movements of these great primates.

Once you have located a gorilla group, you will be allowed an hour in their presence. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle but endangered giants is unforgettable. Return to the accommodation and have some rest before moving out for the late afternoon to evening local community and cultural encounter. This involves cultural dances from the local people of the community. You also participate in some activities e.g. traditional cooking and weaving among others. Return for dinner and overnight.
