Masai Mara National Reserve

Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast at the camp, you will proceed for a morning game drive in the reserve carrying a lunch box. Another game drive follows in the afternoon until sunset. Next, you can visit a Masaai village and pay for a tour of the village. Finally, you will return to Mara Maisha Camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

Masai Mara offers a unique variety of animals. The reason is that this hilly region is both humid and fertile and is crossed by the rivers Mara and Talek, which carry water the whole year round. The rivers are full of crocodiles and hippos. The banks of the rivers are covered in thick forest, which gradually makes way for bush and grassland. The abundance of water and excellent availability of food is why the Masai Mara, a continuance of the Tanzanian Serengeti National Park, has the greatest wild animal population in Africa. There is a theatrical spectacle from July to November each year when huge herds of gnus and zebras cross the crocodile invested Mara river.
