One of our tour guides will be right there when you exit customs with a warm smile and a sign bearing your name to welcome you to Uganda. He/she will help you navigate any airport related issues and then transfer you to your hotel. Today is a day to rest and relax as you recover from jet lag. Depending on your arrival time, your tour guide will discuss available activity options if you're the "hit the ground running" type. These may include cycling, birding, botanical gardens, or hiking (among others).

Kibale National Park

Today you will spend time with one of man's closest relatives, the chimpanzee, with whom we share 97.3% of our DNA.

After an early morning breakfast and briefing you’ll begin your guided trek into the forest, following the tracks and sounds until you locate the chimps. Tracking may take 3-5 hours while habituation may take 3/4ths of the entire day.

An evening nature walk in the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary will blow you away. 20 rare primate species live here. Community trails will give you a glimpse into the indigenous way of life.

Words are not sufficient to describe this experience. We will be waiting to hear if you agree when you receive your certificate at the end of the trek. You will spend an hour within six meters of a gorilla family. The trek could last anywhere from four hours to a day and it's so worth it. You'll have a support team of rangers, trackers, and porters who will help you with your luggage throughout.

This is a more relaxed way to make the 12-hour journey back to Entebbe. A stop in Lake Mburo National Park at the half-way mark gives you an opportunity to wind down as you conclude your safari. The park is home to zebra, giraffe, impala, eland, and leopard (among others). You may go on an optional biking safari, horseback safari, or night game drive while in the park. Even relaxing in the pool with a view of the entire park would be spectacular!

You will also have a nice hotel room to freshen up, pack, and weigh your bags before we transfer you to the airport.
