Day 1

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Meet your safari guide and leave from Entebbe or Kampala in the morning. The destination for the day is Queen Elizabeth National Park. Our first stop on the way is at the equator to get the experience of standing with one foot on either side of the Southern and Northern Hemispheres. We continue to the town of Mbarara for lunch and then do the last part of the journey through rolling hills with tea plantations. We arrive at the lodge and enjoy a relaxed evening.

Day 2

Game drive and boat cruise

Wake up early in the morning for a game drive in the Kasenyi part of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Here, you have the chance of seeing lions, elephants, buffaloes, an abundance of birds, and more. After lunch, your guide takes you on the afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. This two-hour boat ride is a great highlight where you can look out for hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and warthogs along the shores of the channel.

Day 3

Tree-climbing lions in Ishasha and transfer to Bwindi

Tree-climbing lions in Ishasha and transfer to Bwindi

Head off to the Ishasha part of Queen Elizabeth National Park in the morning. The drive there goes along an adventurous road and you have the chance of seeing baboons and elephants along the way. In Ishasha you will find topis and buffaloes and search for the tree-climbing lions. The lions in this area are famous for climbing up great fig trees to take a rest. After finishing your game drive, the journey goes on to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Enjoy the changing landscape as the vehicle slowly climbs up toward the misty mountains of the gorillas.

Day 4

Gorilla trekking

You have now reached the highlight of this gorilla and savannah safari - the gorilla trekking day! Your guide will take you to the starting point of the gorilla trekking in the morning and you set off for your adventure. The trek takes you through the jungle up to the point where the gorillas are and you then get to spend one hour with them. When you are back from the gorilla trekking, your guide takes you to the stunningly beautiful Lake Bunyonyi.

Relax at Lake Bunyonyi

Relax at Lake Bunyonyi

Have a free day at Lake Bunyoyi. Here you can rent a canoe to explore the islands, take a swim (the lake is free of hippos, crocodiles, and bilharzia), go for a hike or just relax with a book. During your time at Lake Bunyonyi, you can take a walk and also visit the locals.

Day 6

After breakfast, you start off with your guide toward Lake Mburo National Park. A landscape of rolling green hills will pass by the windows before you reach the town of Mbarara for lunch and then continue the short distance to the park. Have a game drive to see zebras and impalas on the way to the lodge.

Start the day early with a safari walk in Lake Mburo National Park. Enjoy the experience of being one with nature as you see the animals close by during the walk. Have breakfast at the lodge before starting the journey back to Kampala or Entebbe. Make a stop along the way for lunch in Masaka or at the equator, depending on the time. You have now reached the end of your gorilla and savannah safari as your guide drops you off in Kampala or Entebbe.
