Johannesburg to Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate

Your journey starts at 7:40 am from O.R. Tambo Airport, where you'll be whisked away on a 7-hour drive to the charming town of Hoedspruit.

On arrival, your Wild Planet Safari guide will be there to greet you. After settling in, treat yourself to lunch (at your own expense). After lunch, we'll head to Warthogs Rest Lodge in Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate. This tranquil lodge offers free WiFi, a swimming pool and a shared lounge area.

This afternoon, we'll take you on a drive through the estate. This is not a private game reserve, and there will be other locals and lodge guests enjoying the wilderness. The estate offers chances to get up close with some fantastic animals. It's a great introduction to your first wildlife encounter as you explore the estate's beauty.

Upon your return, take some time to unwind before we gather for dinner at the boma. This evening, enjoy a group dinner and engage in lively discussions about the exciting adventures that lie ahead.

Before sunrise, we embark on a full-day safari in the Kruger National Park. We'll depart from Hoedspruit and drive to Orpen Gate. Your guide will handle all entrance fees and check-in, ensuring a seamless start to your adventure.

The abundance of prey attracts predators, with lions being prominent in this region. As we explore the park, keep your eyes peeled for sightings of wild dogs, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas. Our morning will be spent traversing the area with a scenic stop at a picnic site for breakfast prepared by your guide.

After breakfast, we head east towards Satara, where we'll enjoy lunch at the camp restaurant at our own expense. From Satara, we'll head towards Mozambique before returning to the gate.

Anticipate reaching the gate around 4 pm, followed by an hour's drive back to Hoedspruit. Arriving back at Warthogs Rest around 5 pm, you'll have some well-deserved time to relax and unwind before we convene for another delectable dinner at the boma.

Day 3

Panorama Route

Panorama Route

South Africa's Panorama Route is renowned for its beauty and natural wonders. We start the day with a delightful breakfast at the lodge, preparing for the day's exploration.

We visit God's Window, which offers views that seem to stretch to the ends of the earth - a sight to behold with its towering cliffs and lush landscapes.

Explore Graskop and Pilgrim's Rest, both steeped in rich history. Delve into the geological wonders of Bourke's Luck Potholes, a series of unique rock formations created by water erosion. In the charming town of Graskop, we'll enjoy lunch at our own expense, immersing ourselves in the local flavors and hospitality.

We continue our journey to witness Mac Mac and Berlin Falls, where cascading waters create a mesmerizing display. Our guides will provide fascinating insights into the region's history, geology, and wildlife.

After dinner, we will go to the wildlife estate and enjoy a night drive with spotlights to search the area for nocturnal animals.

Keep your eyes peeled for giraffes, as we hope to encounter these graceful creatures and capture a fantastic selfie.

After our bush walk, we'll return to Warthogs Rest for a delicious breakfast and a chance to freshen up before we bid farewell to this remarkable region.
