From Cape Town make your way up the west coast of South Africa. At certain times of the year, this route is a rainbow of colours, with the annual blooming of the wildflowers found in the area. Travel up as far as Springbok, which is a quaint little town in the heart of Namaqualand, where you will overnight in the country.

Day 2-3
Fish River Canyon
Fish River Canyon
Travel from South Africa into Namibia. There is more than one border crossing that you can make use of, and all of them are fairly easy to access. Make your way to the famous Fish River Canyon, where you will be spending the next two nights.
The lodge where you'll be staying offers optional activities like scenic drives, and sundowner drives, as well as half-day and full-day hikes. These have not been included in the tour price, but we are happy to book them for you.
If you are interested in hiking the canyon, Fish River Lodge offers 2, 3 or 5-night packages and we can amend this itinerary to accommodate the hiking option.

Day 4-5
Ghost Town and Wild Horses

Spend the next two nights just outside Aus, which is a tiny town full of history. Klein Aus Vista is a country-style hotel with individual chalets, all offering views of the ever-changing Namibia landscape.
An hour's drive west takes you to the coastal town of Luderitz. With a strong German influence, and if you enjoy architecture, it is worth driving through this town and stopping at the museum. Before getting to Luderitz, be sure to stop at the famous "Ghost" town of Kolmanskop. The living museum is only open in the morning and it's best to get there as soon as it opens.
On your way back to the hotel, stop at the viewing area of the wild horses of Namibia. There is an organisation that makes sure the horses are provided with food and water in times of drought, but for the rest, they are wild and roam the hills of the area.

Sossusvlei

Continue with your trip today, travelling further north towards Sossusvlei and the Hoodia Desert Lodge where you will spend the next two nights exploring all that this beautifully scenic area has to offer. A guided Sossusvlei excursion including lunch in the dunes is included during your stay.

Swakopmund
Swakopmund
The last three nights of your journey are spent in Swakopmund. Built next to the ocean, Swakopmund offers a memorable experience. From excursions to the ancient Welwitschia Plains, making a stop at the Moon Landscape, to the local hidden gems in terms of eateries. Swakopmund has so much to offer visitors, that we've included three nights.
Depending on your travel times, we can add on or take off some nights here.
