Your driver will pick you up and depart on a game drive to Tarangire National Park, where you will get your first chance to do some serious game viewing. The Tarangire National Park is usually quite rewarding in terms of wildlife, and is a particularly good place to see elephant. You will continue on from the national park to the your lodge for the night.

There are over 550 species of birds in the Tarangire National Park, the most in any one region of the world, who focus on the green swamps in the centre of the park. Dry country antelope are a particular speciality such as the long necked gerenuk and the oryx, although not easy to find.

Please note: This is a set departure five night mobile safari for a small group of guests. The trip will depart with a minimum of 2 guests, and has a maximum of eight to ten guests on any trip. Available throughout the year, usually departing on a Saturday.

Day 3-5

From Ngorongoro to the Serengeti

From Ngorongoro to the Serengeti

A transfer game drive from Bougainvillea Lodge in the Ngorongoro Crater to the Serengeti National Park and Serengeti Wilderness Camp will allow you to take in the changing landscape as you leave the crater and drive on to the rolling plains. You will have the option of stopping to see Olduvai Gorge on the way, as well as heading into a local Maasai Village to learn about the local culture.

Full days of game-viewing will follow, with the option to add a balloon safari on the second day, giving you aerial views of the plains as you glide above the massive herds of animals calmly and quietly.

Options for full day game viewing will be provided for the duration of your stay here. You'll head out each day with picnics, snacks and lots of water.

Day 6

Departure

Your guide will transfer you to the local airstrip after breakfast, where you will embark on a scheduled flight back to Arusha. Soaring over the African Rift Valley, you will get fantastic views of Tanzania as you travel back to Arusha Airport and your connecting flight back home.

Please note: Low season prices quoted.

You will need to pay a departure tax of US$20 per person at the airport. Please check you have all your bags with you on departure. The airport is very old fashioned and the queues can be long and slow!
