Arrival in the Okavango Delta
On arrival in Maun you will be met by your helicopter pilot and flown to the Xaxaba Airstrip. Here your guide will meet you and assist you to the waiting boat for your boat transfer to the camp on the river
The next three nights will be spent camping (in fully serviced en-suite tents) along the Boro River in the Moremi Game Reserve and exploring the waterways and wilderness areas by boat and foot.
While in the helicopter you will be able to view the larger animals like the elephants, buffalo and herds of lechwe. Hippopotami are also viewable in the waterways, lying around or fighting for territory.
Once you are in the boat, your guide will show you the wonders of the smaller game that can be found along the river and on the river banks.
Nature walks are the best way to get down to ground level and explore the delta up close and personal.

Explore the Moremi Game Reserve
Much of the Moremi Game Reserve is made up of wide-open floodplains, marshes, lagoons, papyrus fringed channels, woodland and savannah. This safari explores the south-western portion of this region, along one of the Okavango's main waterways.
The wildlife in the area are commonly antelope species, namely red lechwe and impala. Lions often follow the large herds of buffalo that move through the area and the rest of the large predators are also found in this area, but further away from the river. Hippo's and elephants are seen either in, or next to the rivers.
There are many birds species that can be found in the area, and if you are a birder, this is definitely where you want to be. Amongst all the species, you have the possibility of seeing the globally threatened Slaty Egret and Wattled Crane. The spectacular evening sky is unmatched in this part of the world, so be sure to spend some evenings on a sky safari.

End of safari
Enjoy your last breakfast before taking the boat transfer back to Maun. We can arrange the helicopter to transfer you back to Maun, but this is an additional, optional cost.
Depending on where the camp is in the reserve, the boat transfer may take up to five hours, so we recommend you staying in Maun tonight so that there are no missed flights when you depart. This cost is not included in this price, but we are more than happy to assist you.
Note: Should you want to spend longer in the Okavango Delta, there is another scheduled safari you can join as the dates match up specifically for this option and will afford you a combined nine (9) night safari. Please contact us for more information and costs.
