Today is the moment you’ve been waiting for—Gorilla Trekking! After an early breakfast, head to the Uganda Wildlife Authority HQ for a ranger briefing on trekking rules and what to expect. Pack essentials: rain jacket, long pants, hiking boots, water, snacks, sunscreen, hat, and insect repellent.

At 8:00 AM, begin your trek into Bwindi’s dense jungle in search of the majestic Mountain Gorillas. The trek may last 2–8 hours depending on their location, but the moment you find them is unforgettable. You’ll spend one magical hour observing these gentle giants as they interact in their natural habitat.

Enjoy your packed lunch in the peaceful forest surroundings. If time allows, visit the Batwa community to learn about their ancient culture and deep connection to the forest.

Return to The Haven Lodge Buhoma for a relaxing evening and dinner, reflecting on this truly life-changing experience.
