After breakfast, you will head to the reserve for morning game drives and later for afternoon drives. Among the wildlife are the various antelopes and all the Big Five (i.e. elephant, lion, leopard, rhino, and buffalo). After your extensive game drives, you will return to the lodge for your dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will depart for Nyeri arriving in time for lunch. For clients staying at the Treetops Hotel, lunch is served at the Outspan Hotel and for those staying at the Ark, lunch is served at the Aberdare Country Club. After lunch, a transfer is provided to either Treetops or the Ark, which are strategically situated for night game viewing.

Day 5

Aberdares to Lake Nakuru National Park

Aberdares to Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, you will leave Aberdares National Park and proceed through the Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru arriving in time for lunch. An afternoon game drive takes you around the lake; home of the famous pink flamingo. Lake Nakuru houses Kenya’s first rhino sanctuary and one of the largest concentrations of black rhinoceros in the world a large population of white rhinos. The park features the picturesque Malaika Waterfalls. Also of interest is an area of 188 km around the lake fenced off as a sanctuary to protect Rothschild giraffes. Among predators are lions, leopards, and large pythons hiding in the dense woodlands which may occasionally be seen crossing roads or dangling from trees. Other game include Thomson’s and Grant gazelles, the long-eared leaf-nosed bats, Colobus monkeys, rock hyraxes, hippos, waterbucks, impalas, striped hyenas, bat-eared foxes, wildcats, reedbucks and golden cats.

You will wake up for your breakfast. After breakfast, you will depart Lake Nakuru for Masai Mara National Reserve arriving in time for lunch. After checking in at your lodge, you will settle down for your lunch. After lunch, you will have a short time to relax before you head for an afternoon game drive in this top-class game reserve. You will do your game drive till late in the evening before you return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

You will enjoy morning and afternoon game drives. You will have a full day spent viewing the great predators and exploring the park's amazingly high concentration of wild animals. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals plus the elusive cheetahs and leopards hiding amidst acacia boughs. During the stay, you will also have an optional opportunity to visit a village of the Masai people to witness the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. A glimpse into their homes and social structure is a poignant experience. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the lodge/camp.
