At town of Karatina, you will make a detour up the beautiful tea and coffee plantations in the foothills of Mount Kenya; take some time to take photos and look at the tea plants. Then continue the trip to the delightfully placed Aberdares Country Club for lunch in glorious surroundings that really captures the atmosphere of colonial Kenya. After breakfast, the safari continues north to the Samburu Game Reserve. After the highlands, it is now time to experience the very dry and beautiful areas of Samburu and buffalo’s spring. You will arrive in time for lunch at the lodge, located with a dazzling view of the breathtaking scenery. The area you are in now is noticeably warmer than at Aberdares. Many veteran African travelers consider this area the "real" Africa, where the great species variation provides ample opportunities for incredible experiences. In the afternoon after lunch you will have the first large animal experiences; you will meet some of the animals rarely seen elsewhere like the narrow striped Grevy zebra, the beautiful reticulated giraffe, and Somali ostrich. After an early morning breakfast, you will head from the lush highlands to the west to the Great Rift Valley and the small but lovely Lake Baringo. We will stop at Thomson falls for lunch. The drive exhibits some of the beautiful landscapes of Kenya.
Baringo and Naivasha are the only freshwater shallows in the Kenyan Rift; the large fresh water body is a shelter for more than 400 bird species that give the area its main attraction. The lake is a quiet and solitary oasis embedded in the abrupt and arid land that foresees the northern deserts. Baringo and Bogoria were only visited by caravans of slave. The lake was first described by Scottish explorer Joseph Thomson in 1883. Accommodation and meals are at Baringo Island Camp.

The safari continues to the southwest through the Great Rift Valley to the Maasai Mara plains. The trip is varied and gives a new impression of the savanna part of Kenya's landscapes. You will experience many different animal species here; large herds of elephant, buffalo, predators, and their prey are more common here than most other places in Africa. The period from July to October has provided a great opportunity to experience the great wildebeest and zebra migration, which have arrived from the Serengeti. During this time the chances to discover the many predators are extra-good. Look closely to spot lions, cheetahs, and leopards. You can expect to arrive in the Mara area midday. You will bring packed lunches and enjoy a long game drive in the later hours of the afternoon. Accommodation and meals for two nights will be at the cozy and charming Ol Moran Tented Camp or something similar.
