Sabi Sand Game Reserve is home to several luxurious private reserves, including Djuma. Sharing open borders with the world-famous Kruger National Park, Djuma affords visitors a very real experience of the wilderness. The wildlife viewing is superb, and the Big Five and big cats (including the elusive leopard) are routinely spotted.

Djuma has two lodges, and both are self-catering and can only be booked as a private camp for up to 10 people. The 5-star Vuyatela Lodge has a funky modern African design and its rates include a chef to prepare your food. In the 4-star Galago Camp, all catering is normally done by the visitors, but a chef can be arranged at an extra cost. Djuma is a medium-sized property within Sabi Sands and has traversing rights with some neighboring properties. This can create congestion and time pressure around sightings as only three vehicles are allowed at any particular wildlife sighting.

Wildlife

Djuma's excellent wildlife viewing affords the chance to see all big safari animals – including the Big Five and cheetah – easily. You are practically guaranteed leopard sightings. These elusive cats tend to be very relaxed throughout Sabi Sands. Although various antelope species are present, they tend to be ignored in favor of more exciting species.

Scenery

Djuma's terrain is primarily woodland savannah. Thick vegetation is present but rarely interferes with sightings as off-road driving is permitted and the guides and trackers are very skilled.
