At Kwando all´s about the wildlife activities. If you are looking for guides who show you everything, where there is no way to far, that´s the place to go.

Everything was incredible. The wildlife was extraordinary and diverse, the scenery was amazing. Definitely stay out late to see the stars and get up early to watch the sunrise. I have no complaints with the accommodations. The food was delicious and never ending, the bush babies were warm, and the outlets were a-plenty. The guides were very well informed, trained, and professional. Search "Kwando Camps Ethan Chapman" on YouTube to see a documentation of the wildlife.

Game Diversity

I have already been several times to Africa and always try to include Kwando or Linyanti areas to visit. This year it was a Lagoon Camp in Kwando Concession. Due to the combination of savanna, woodland and swamps you will be able to see a huge diversity of animals. It is one of places where you can see lions, leopards and cheetahs. And even the same day! And to crown it all a pack of wild dogs! The huge herds of buffalos are staying in this area as well attracting nomadic (without a pride) lions. The breeding herds of elephants crossing the Kwando river just beside your tent so you can watch them during the midday break. Diversity of animals just incredible. The two lodges (Lebala and Lagoon) of Kwando Safaris are very comfortable and have very professional and friendly stuff. What differs Kwando Safaris from other camps is the atmosphere! Plenty of jokes, traditional music and sincere people. You feel absolutely relaxed. I've been in both camps and can recommend the both of them. During my second safari (now I am planning sixth) I met one guy for whom it was already 16th safari and I asked him what is the best. And he answered: "That is it. Kwando Safaris is the best. Lebala is the best." But my favourite was Kwando Little Kwara (in Kwara Concession) and now I think it is Kwano Lagoon. So, it's up on you what you will choose. But with all those camps you will definitely choose the game!!

We visited the Kwando concession as part of our Botswana 2019 tour. We traveled as a family (this was our 7th safari in africa having visited over 11countries). Kwando provided the best action, 15+new wildlife species, great action and perfect setting for wildlife safari and photography. We chose a private vehicle with guide Spencer(lebala and lagoon) and Tom (Splash) and it was perfect.

Wildlife - what can I say - Wild dogs, lions and cheetahs every day in hunt, kills and full action. In addition we saw aardwolves, african wild cat, serval, brown hyenas, side striped jackals, genet, civet, honey badgers, bat eared foxes in addition to spotted hyenas. New bird lifers for us included Carmine bee eaters, Goliath herons, Verreaux eagle owl and lots of plains animals such as Roan, Sable, Red Lechwe and sitatunga in splash
Accomodation - Lebala : Great location, easy to get to different locations, , great rooms and best food among the three camps we stayed in kwando, cozy layout and more compact camp; Lagoon - Very picturesque, family room was magical with a private sitout inside and outside, animals come to drink at the kwando river and we saw multiple hunts close to the river. food was good with lots of snacks and drinks. Splash was newer, with new fixtures, comforts and beautiful layout. It was more spreadout

Weather was cold in early morinings and late night , which can be easily handled with a good jacket. Lots of golden light for photography, vehicles were excellent

I did 3 nights at N'xai Pan NP and 3 nights at Splash in the Okavango Delta. What can I say, everything was superb-and to my benefit, it helps when one is the only customer for the 3 full days like I was at N'xai Pan (thanks all of you safety first meek and timid Anglos et al who were so scared of the China Virus for not showing up so I could have the camp all to myself!) but I know the staff would treat everyone great-thanks to Shoo-Shoo for the food and service and big shout outs to Mike my daily guide-he was amazing. Every drive was an adventure and I learn so much from Mike. At Splash, it was almost full the 3 days I stayed here so the staff had to be on their toes and they were.

Overall, the bungalows (huge!!!), natural setting w/waterholes and firepits and service were great.

The only concerns I had, especially when they have more than 20 customers, is the lack of a second protein option at dinner (beef, fish, chicken, pork) if one is not a vegetarian, particularly because one day they had beef for lunch AND dinner at Splash-a clear faux pas. And the only other issue I had was with a guide who was not too keen on giving us bathroom breaks from the Jeep when out on drives in the Delta. Otherwise, the drives were great at both concessions as well as the boat ride in the Delta and other activities.

In closing, beyond mind-blowing wildlife of great diversity all around-it was like being on a DMT trip only in this channel called earthly reality.
