The only activities for boat rides and a walking safari. We barely saw any animals at all on either of the boat or the walking safari. We even tried to fish and they were zero fish as our guide told us they already migrated when the water levels rose.

The Okavango Delta is a beautiful place and if you can go on a game walk you will feel transported to another world. However, I would not recommend going in March. We saw no game, but enjoyed a 3-hour hike among the grass looking at animal tracks and interesting bugs.

We stayed at Pom Pom camp and although we did not see much on the 3 game drives during our 3 night stay, we thoroughly enjoyed the boat ride on the delta as well as the makoro experience.

A place where one has to go as we were on a very small part of this huge expanse of inland water. With the previous heavy rain, the whole water level was high resulting in animals being displaced.

It is very good but if I am evaluating it right after Chobe I have to give 5 stars to Chobe and 4 to okavango.

Mokoro ride was beautiful. We saw elephants, zebra, and giraffes on the bush walk. I felt camping there was unnecessary.

It is a great place for Birding. I should’ve stayed at a better reserve.

Really good boat trips, and meeting a bull Elephant in must, while in Mokoro dugout canoe was very exciting. Ranger guides on land less interesting. Excellent accommodation at Nguma lodge, in perfect setting. However a torrential downpour cancelled a boat trip and dampened our enthusiasm.

Mokoro Trip

I did a 3 days/2 nights self-catered mokoro trip to the delta. It is a completely different experience to other Safari destinations. Do not expect to see as much wildlife as on a game drive or a boat safari, but the bush vibe is fantastic an the hikes on the islands are very nice walking safaris. The delta is also a great destination for bird watching.
