Accurate and reliable operator
Tour: 14-Day Wildlife Trip Exploring Uganda, with Eastern part of the country.
We find this a very recomendable itinerary. A lot of driving, but we liked every day of it. The Eastern/Northern spots (Mount Elgon area, Kidepo)
are absolutely worth it. Great operator, Hedmond had everything worked out perfectly. I wonder if such a complicated trip had worked out so well in Germany. Balam was a wonderful guide, good in game, birds an reptiles. Beautiful lodges, very good value for money. We had about 280 bird species, and four leopards in Murchison Falls NP. I find this trip is a must. To spend some more days would be great.
they build my requested itinerary and improved on it, the customer serivce and response time was A grade, the guide was a master animal spotter and driver. nothing negative to say
Highly Recommended for a Great Ugandan Safari & Ape Trekking Experience
We had an amazing trip with Home to Africa Safaris. All questions and communications were prompt and clear, and all lodges used were highly reputable. We particularly enjoyed Haven Lodge in Buhoma, as well as Chimpanzee Guest House, Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort and Rwakobo Rock.
The Company went to great lengths to ensure a smooth trip during COVID times. Home to Africa was also able to build the required COVID test for departure (as of Feb. 2021) into our already existing itinerary. They worked to find a reputable testing lab close to our itinerary, and arranged so that the test could be taken in transit between two different lodges. This only caused a very minor deviation (2 hours transit/testing time) to our tour to accommodate the test - I was very impressed! All went smoothly and COVID testing results were provided within 24 hours of testing. All other COVID protocols were followed and I would not hesitate to take the trip again, even during the ongoing pandemic.
Of the three safaris taken in multiple countries, our guide, Karim, was the best I’ve experienced. Karim has a keen eye on spotting birds and game I would have never had seen, and also has a vast knowledge on these species which he uses to educate you during your trip. Karim’s knowledge on Ugandan wildlife far exceeded my expectations and he possesses an extensive expertise far greater than most guides. While we were not on a bird safari, Karim’s great proficiency of Ugandan fowl turned out to be an unexpected gem of the trip. He is very articulate and organized - we felt we were in very good hands with Karim! Dinners with Karim were also particularly enjoyable and we learned a great deal about Ugandan culture through our conversations. I would highly recommend requesting him for your trip.
Amazing and Safe Experience during COVID
Amazing, beautiful, awe-stricken, humbled, grateful are just a few of the words to describe what my two teens and I experienced during our 6 day excursion over the Christmas holiday in Uganda. Our guide Karim was the best! I highly recommend you ask for him as he is an amazing representative of Uganda hospitality, care and service on behalf of Home to Africa Tours and Travel. We went during COVID which we were obviously hesitant about, but the safety and sanitation, was unbelievable. Actually visiting at this time offers you no crowds, ease in booking and it is extremely helpful to supporting tourism at this time for Ugandans. The landscape from the waters/rapids of the Nile to the brush of the lowlands around Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth National Parks, to the hills and highlands near Kibale and Bwindi National Parks is breathtaking and utterly gorgeous. An hour with the gorillas is indescribable as well and something my family will never forget. Don't hesitate, this tour company and Karim gave us an experience we will treasure always.
Unbelievable experience and joy!!!
The trip was absolutely amazing, it was beyond our expectations. We did the 8 day trip in Uganda, with gorilla trekking and words cannot describe the feeling when you see all these beautiful animals up so close! the booking process was nice and easy, Hedmond was great help and gave us lots of tips and alternatives in terms of things we want to see and do, and where we want to stay. the actual tour was amazing, our guide Derrick was excellent, very warm and friendly, his passion for wildlife was amazing and it showed though his knowledge of all the animals and birds, he stopped the car when he saw something we didnt or missed, and tell us exactly what it was and about it, he literally knew everything we asked and much more, and he was a funny guy to be with! Most of the accommodation the tour group offer were unreal, the lodges in some of these places are just amazing as the views were something else!
10 out of 10 for me. Best trip I have been on. I would highly recommend this tour group, and Derrick our guide as it was be a nice and easy process based on your needs and wants for the trip, and you will have such an amazing time on the tour with him! Thanks again!!
