Bucket list- Check! amazing people- Check! experience of a life time- Check!!
A week ago now I have just finished 7 days lemosho trek up Kili with Great Lake expedition. I can't recommend them enough, they will get you to the top and in such a profession and encouraging way! You won't go hungry and you'll always know what the plans are as you go. Our tents were always waiting for us and the food was always ready and it was delicious! Our guides Ima and Tom, kept a watchful eye on us and were always there to encourage us. Infact the whole team did their part superbly. My summit was not possible without my guides. Great Lake Expedition looked after us from start to finish. A great company to choose should you accept the challenge to climb the highest free standing mountain on earth!!

Best trip of our life
Отличная организация - прекрасные водители-гиды, пикники, обеды в парках со скатертями, отслеживают животных
Enjoyable hiking
Absolutely amazing! Was one of the best things I've ever ever done, make no mistake it was very very hard, especially summit night, however the guides are simply amazing, they are very motivating and look after you the whole trip with your blood oxygen level checked twice a day and throughout the climb they are checkng you to make sure everythng is ok.
The food is on another level, hot tasty and more than enough, I'm still in awe of the congratulations cake that was presented after we all summited, how do you bake a cake halfway up a mountain!
Worthy of a special mention is Raphael at Great Lake Expedition, He was fantastic from begining to end, emails where answered quickly, information sent out about the trip was very detailed, nothing was an issue, he is a great asset to Great Lake Expedition, thanks Raphael!
So to summarize, dont just think about it, do it, yes its not cheap, and you may find cheaper companies, however you do get what you pay for, I'm still buzzing 3 weeks on
The most amazing adventure of our life!!!
A few years ago, our son suggested that we climb Mt. Kilimanjaro with him, but we were quite hesitant, because we were 60 at the time. We have done quite a bit of hiking, including Mt. Whitney, but never anything higher that 14,500 feet. After reading about this great hike on The Great Lake Expedition site, we decided to go for it. So, we trained for two years, and on February 13, 2012, our son, Paulo, two of his friends, Vivian, and Daniela, and my husband, Pedro, and I,(Siarra) started out on our eight day Lemosho route hike. Our guide was Lymo and assistant guides, Gorge and Peter took care of us in camp, and Malik did some excellent cooking for us. The mountain was amazing, and our guides and the whole crew were kind, helpful, very friendly, respectful, and made our hike a fantastic adventure. They helped us every step of the way. We even had our own, little private toilet set up for us each day by one of the porters. They called my husband Papa, and me Mum, and they made sure we were safe and had a great time. Lymo, Peter, and Gorge trained us to go pole, pole, and so we all successfully reached the summit. We loved every minute of our adventure, and part of our hearts are still in Tanzania. Our seven year old grandson asked if we would climb Mt. Kilimanjaro with him, so it is on our calendar for 10 years from now, when he is 17 and we are 72. Hopefully we will be lucky enough to get Lymo, Peter, George and Malik to guide us to the roof of Africa one more time.
