Unforgettable Safari Experience - excellent service , knowledgeable guide and attention to details
5/5

I corresponded extensively with Liza Yamazaki of Hazina Afika over internet when planning for our first safari for 12 of us . We decided on 7 day private safari tour in Central Serengati and Ngorongoro Conservation area . Liza was very professional and excellent in all aspect - prompt with answer to all our queries , very informative on safari matters, honest and upfront on fees. The tour more than lived up to our expectations .
We are all "Wow!" by this safari . We enjoyed our "game hunting" everyday in our 4- wheel drive. We were lucky to see thousands of wildebeest and zebras moving in unison in many areas - some stretching right up to the horizon in flat plains . Another unforgettable sight was a pride of lioness and cubs (more than 10) feeding on a carcass of a zebra . Then we saw the majestic lion king walking slowly down the slope to feast on the zebra while the lioness and cubs were playing or sleeping nearby . They are oblivious to the vehicles nearby just a few feet away. We saw vultures hanging around the area waiting for their turn . The next morning we passed by the area and observed the vultures fighting over the remnants of the carcass. It is nature at its best .
There were so many animals including elephants , leopard , cheetahs, herds of gazelle, impalas, monkeys, hordes of hippopotamus in the water .dik dik , foxes , buffaloes , rhinoceros in the distance etc
There are also so many types of birds.
In addition to animals and birds , the scenery of endless plains ,beautiful flat top acacia trees, bushes, streams and water was really very beautiful and refreshing . It was a 360 panorama of the horizon as you turn yourself round .
All in all , it is hard to put in words for the 7 day wonderful safari . You have to experience it yourself .

Shangri-La in Tanzania with Hazina Afrika
5/5

After much research and several enquiries I happened upon Lisa at Hazina Afrika.Right after the first email I knew we would go with Hazina Afrika. Lisa listened to our wishes and planned the perfect safari for the time of year we would be in Tanzania. Everything was perfect from our pickup at Kilimanjaro International airport to our drop off at Dar Es Salaam and everything in between . Our guide Lordlugard made everyday a wonderful experience we will remember and cherish. Accommodation , food, transfers and even the weather were ideal. Lisa at Hazina Afrika takes the worry out of booking the consummate safari, she knows what she is doing and listens to her clients. I would recommend Hazina Afrika without any reservations

Magical trip... and even better guide.
5/5

I sent over a dozen requests out to companies for our special trip. I chose Hazina after reading Lisa's introductory email. We have a six year old and she kept him in mind when giving us a preliminary itinerary (and finalizing one). The itinerary was more thoughtful and descriptive than most of the other companies. Lisa has a vision. The trip was a little last minute but working with Lisa we managed to get into every place we wanted. We were traveling a lot other than the safari and she even helped with that. Professional and easy to work with... wouldn't go anywhere else. She planned and made happen our bucket list trip.

Now for our guide Msami. Everywhere on our trip I heard other people talking about their guides being "the best". Since I have nothing to compare our guide to, as this is our first trip, I can just tell you about our experiences. You are with your guide for a long time... like longer than some of your family members. Pay attention.

Msami is from a local tribe and has been doing this for over 10 years. He is amazingly knowledgeable about everything you see but you also learn through the books and stories he has. He was so great with our son that he still talks about him. Msami respects nature and we appreciated that he made sure we did the same. He also knows different ways to do the circuit. Most guides take you on the main roads that can be dusty and boring. He always provides you with options and experiences that are different from everywhere else. "We can do this but we can also do this but it will take a little longer"... always choose B. In the beginning, I did not believe when he would call out animals that were SO far away. As you get closer and look through the binoculars, see the pictures in the books he provides and listen to his stories and information about the animal... you never want the safari to end. Msami also is a very good photographer. He makes sure he gets you into the right light and amazing spots to photograph from. If you are lucky enough to get him as your guide... make sure he finds the wild dogs for you.

I want to also mention how giving and aware he is. Our first day, he stopped another company's truck from rolling into the river (one wheel in the air teetering on the edge). He told the other driver to first get everyone OUT of the car and then pushed it out. Msami stopped by a broken down vehicle that everyone else was passing. We gave a lift to the couple that was stranded (nothing worked in their car) and we ended up seeing them throughout our safari and becoming friends. The most amazing part is that he actually saved a wildebeest-- He explained the whole time that he wanted to see if there was a predator and if so he would just leave it. But if it was suffering, maybe give it a peaceful end. He pulled the animal out of the hole and it slowly got up and walked away. He helped with a flat tire on another vehicle. Now you may say that it seems like it took time away from us but he never did anything without asking us first. Our family believes in safari kharma. We had a small issue with our truck and friends of his flocked to fix it quickly. When you are in the middle of it... it is VERY refreshing to know your guide can fix it themselves or have friends close by that will help. Finally, Msami also has a ton of brain teasers. This comes in very handy when you are waiting for a "crossing" ; )

Trust the Hazina team with your big trip... you will NOT be disappointed!

The best Safari trip to date and I've been on countless Safari adventures
5/5

Everything was organised splendidly. We had a FULL itinerary on each day and in 5days we went from Arusha to Serengeti (north to south) to Ngorongoro and back to Arusha. We were lucky to see more than one crossing by the Mara river; the big 5 as well as other animals such as Cheetahs, Servals and Jackal cubs; and the vast beautiful landscapes that each area had to offer. It was great to stay in different camps/lodges as it enhanced the experience and staff were truly welcoming, friendly and shared some great stories. This trip exceeded my expectations. Fantastic and memorable.

Hazina Afrika has the right formula for a stellar safari!
5/5

I feel very fortunate having found Hazina to facilitate our safari. The all around A++ service began with the prompt and thorough answers to any questions we had prior to safari. The well put together information packets regarding travel to Africa and safari that Hazina provided was very valuable, especially for first timers like us.

Upon arrival in Tanzania, there were no questions or worries, everything happened like Hazina said it would. We were greeted at the airport and helped with visa, then escorted to the hotel where we were warmly greeted by Lisa and Rama. They briefed us on our upcoming 7 day adventure and answered any questions or concerns we had. They even gave us a mobile phone that could be used to call Hazina staff in case we ran into a problem during the safari. We had an early start the next morning and we were pretty tired. We were helped into our room and awaited our adventure the next morning to begin.

Embarking on a safari is quite a different format of travel than we are used to. A safari literally has you spending 6 (or however long your trip is) entire days with someone you've never ever met before. Needless to say, a connection between the travelers and the safari guide is so important for a successful adventure. That being said, we hit the jackpot. Our guide Lodi was simply the best! We can't say enough good things about this guy or the experience he gave to us. He is kind and friendly, open and good natured. Lodi is a walking and talking search engine for all things safari, Tanzania and beyond for that matter. We are happy to call him a friend :)

Our expectations of the safari itself were more than fulfilled. We began our safari in the north and slowly made our way south. Each day we rose before the sun and and got a head start on sightseeing. We saw all of the Big 5, multiple times. We saw an amazing cluster of mama, teen and baby lions. We saw a lion, two cheetahs and a hyena each tending to their kill, the always present vultures were ever interesting too. A slumbering tree dwelling leopard. Elephants all around. Oh, and who can forget the THREE rhinos we saw (one up north and two in Ngorogoro). A prized moment was witnessing the literally thousands and thousands of wildebeest and zebras crossing the Mara River. In tow with the sharpest guide in the Serengeti, we arrived just as the crossing was starting. Because of this brilliant timing, we saw the entire phenomenon from start to finish. What an amazing sight!

A little about accommodations and food... In general the four hotels/lodges we stayed at were good. Buffalo Luxury Camp and Osupulko were top notch. The rooms, staff, food and feeling of the spots were exceptional. We enjoyed our time at these two places very much. The other two we spent time at, Sopa and Mount Meru, were average in all aspects, not bad, but just okay. The box breakfasts and lunches for safari were satisfactory. We were never left hungry. In addition, there were additional snacks and unlimited drinks available in the truck.

The amazing experience we had on safari will stay with us forever. We are so pleased with the service provided by Hazina Afrika. If looking for safari again, you can bet if Hazina is offering, we are taking.

Way beyond expectations
5/5

From the moment we arrived at the Kilimanjaro Airport we were well looked after by Hazina Africa. The itinerary was well laid out, and it allowed us to fulfill all the goals we had set for our trip. Being very enthusiastic amateur photographers, we were incredibly satisfied by the photographic opportunities and experiences that our INCREDIBLE guide offered us. Accommodations were superb; everything was organized and well-prepared for us. This trip gave us experiences well beyond what we had expected. When we return to Africa there is no question that we will be using Hazina Africa again.

Climbing Kili, an incredible adventure
5/5

My friend and I got in touch with Hazina Africa when we were in Arusha. Originally, we were planning on hiking Mt. Meru due to the cost, however then realized that Kilimanjaro was really where we wanted to be. It was the best choice! The team at Hazina Africa were outstanding. They organized everything from our clothing, to food, and plan. We chose the Machame route over 7 days. The extra day was totally worth it to have a chill day to take in the beauty of the mountain.

From the beginning gates, to the top, and down, the team supported us brilliantly. We had awesome food the entire time, with lots of water, and chocolate (good energy food to keep us going). Anyone who is thinking of booking through Hazina Africa, do it! Everything was organized down to the minor details, with wonderful people!

Quick tour in the Arusha National Park...
5/5

Had an excellent day-trip in the National Park close to Arusha with a guide and and a characteristic Land Cruiser! Got picked-up by the driver in the morning and after a quick stop in Arusha we went to the National Park. It is a perfect park for a full-day activity with changing scenery and lots of things to see. Don't miss out on the giraffes (though I don't think it is possible to...), the fig tree, the lakes and what ever you do; don't miss the opportunity to hike in the park. If you ask me, there is no safari like a safari on foot! On our hike we had our guide/chauffeur from the Hazina Africa (who was really cunning and knowledgeable), an aspiring guide (he too was excellent) and lastly we had an armed park ranger for safety!

All in all: a great, trustworthy company with solid guides and a fantastic park that gives you great value for your money!

Amazing safari, amazing guides.
5/5

My wife Shirley and I went on safari with Hazina Afrika in February, 2012. This was our second Tanzanian safari, and we thought we had seen it all the first time (different operator). We could not have been more wrong.

We flew to Ndutu in the Serengeti, then travelled south, over to Ngorongoro, before returning to Arusha 6 days later. Staying at a combination of permanent lodges and temporary camps, we saw incredible wildlife. Our guides Fazal and Rama (we were with a group hiring 2 vehicles, and we switched drivers from day to day) were very knowledgeable about the area, the wildlife and animal behaviours, something I was not aware of from our previous safari. From a wildebeest birth in the Serengeti to a zebra "kill" in Ngorongoro, plus a stop in a TRUE Maasai village (not like the tourist trap we visited on our first safari) we saw incredible sights, and made several new Tanzanian friends as well. I would highly recommend Hazania Afrika to anyone going on safari in Tanzania. If you want to climb Kili, they can arrange that too (we hired our own guide for Kili, but if we go again we will book through Hazina).
