My experience with Axis Africa Safaris to Mara National reserve was awesome.
5/5

Communication was very effective i.e there were no delays of any kind.Their services were incredible from pick up at my preferred point in Nairobi town, the stops for our day meals were up to my expectation and the tented camps were spectacular. The game drives surpassed my expectations,Richard our driver/guide was very conversant with the animals and the reserve itself so we able to see and learn about every animal in the reserve.

Amazing caring people
5/5

This trip was last minute and I only started researching few days prior to the arrival date. I had lot of questions and things to figure out which Lennox made it easy and simple for me. He was so prompt and responsive to every queries from the beginning. He'd reply within few hours. For me, this is what stood out! After exchanging few e-mails, I knew I could trust him, this was important as I was travelling and doing the safari alone.
Dennis the guide/driver was knowledgeable, kind and caring person, he did everything to make my trip enjoyable. I got sick the last day of the safari, he took me to the pharmacy few times to buy different medicines. He'd constantly check up on me if I was okay, asked if I took the medicine etc. While we were in Masai Mara, Lennox would call and ask if I had found a place in Nairobi to stay since I hadn't booked a hotel after the safari. To them, you aren't just another person who shows up to do safari. They genuinely care, wants you to have the best time and will do everything to make it happen!

Everything was very Good. We slept in a "tent" and did not expect it to be as good as it was.. with your own toilet and shower.

Great safari and trip!
5/5

My wife and I went on the 5-day tour safari with Axis. We had a great experience and our guide (John) was quite knowledgeable. He knew a lot about the animals, and he was able to answer almost all of my questions regarding geography, geology, and other subjects when curiosity struck me during our trip.

The tour operator responded promptly to all inquiries we had before deciding to go on the trip. The speed with which they replied showed us the quality of Axis' service and respect of the client. This influenced our choice when we were deciding which tour operator to pick.

I have listed below the amount of time we spent in each park:
- Masai Mara: 1 evening, 1 full-day, 1 morning
- Lake Nakura: 1 morning
- Hell's Gate: 1 morning

Our only complaint is that the tour operator (Axis) did not give us advance notice that many of the optional aspects of the tour were not included in the cost, nor were we told the prices of the optional activities (there was an optional visit to a Masai village/dance at Masai Mara, an optional boat safari at Lake Naivasha, and a trek at Hell's Gate). We brought a limited amount of money so we were often debating whether or not we should do an activity based solely on the fact that we didn't want to run out of money. I would request that future tour information include the optional activities for each park, as well as associated cost, so that clients are better prepared financially and understand exactly what they can expect from the tour.

All in all, we would like to thank Axis (tour operator) and John (our guide) for the great experience. Other than the complaint noted above, we had a great time and we felt that we received a lot of value for our money.

Very well organized
5/5

Pick-up at the hotel in Nairobi, then transport to Masai Mara with a group of other people. One short Safari in the late afternoon of the first day. The second day will be Safari only and on the third in the morning again a quick Safari of about 2 hours. All in all the tour was well organized and we spotted a lot of animals including lions and cheetahs.

Great experience in Africa.
5/5

Our 5 days Safari tour is full of amazing experiences. there are 5 reasons that you should take Axis tour.

1. Fast & detailed response: even though I ask lots of questions about tour and Kenya Lennox from the office respond all the questions within 1 hours. He know everything so if you need something
2. Great care: Before starting tour Lennox double check everything like our tour date and flight schedule and so on. So we do not be worry about something you might miss.
3. Well organized tour schedule: We take 5 days Massai Mara tour. There is full of different experiences all tour schedule is so well organized and route was perfect.
4. Nice guide: Dennis is one of the best driver and guide. He know every spot where Big 5 animals are. Whenever he speed up that's the time to take a picture.
5. Good accommodation & food: We stayed two days in tent and two days in hotel. all accommodations are beyond my expectation. we can use high pressure hot water everywhere. Food is also great. I did not know Kenya food is so delicious.

With these reasons I highly recommend Axis as a Kenya travel mate.
Thank you Dennis, Lennox and Axis.

Perfect introduction to Kenya
5/5

Me and my gf had an amazing time, saw all the big 5 and a lot more. Our guide Isaac was friendly and always happy to help.

the accommodation at the maasi mara fitted the experience perfectly and situated within walking distance of a Maasi camp, which was interested but as a warning if you visit the camp they will pressure you into buying things. But that's just the camp not Axis.

All in all the entire trip was amazing and was truly a highlight of our trip

A Wonderful and most Amazing Experience
5/5

We have just returned from the most wonderful and amazing Safari. From the start of contacting Axis Africa Safaris (Jan 17 ) to departure (Sept 17) Lennox responded to all of my questions, and there were many, even the recommendation of accommodation was spot on. The price of the Safari was brilliant value for the money. Samuel, our guide was just brilliant, his knowledge and experience is second to none and we were privileged to see so many animals, more than we had ever hoped for, from the Dung Beetle right up to the beautiful elephants. In one day we saw Cheetah, Leopard and Lions.
I have no hesitation is recommending Axis African Safaris and with Samuel as your guide you cannot fail to enjoy.

Incredible experience with a 3 day Safari at Masai Mara. Great value for money!
5/5

This experience and the package from Axis Safaris was so good that I don't even know where to start from.

Our guide James Gichina was incredibly friendly, knowledgable and accommodation. He always got our input for finding ways on how to personalize our itinerary to fit our group as much as possible. He knew the inside-out of the Masai Mara reserve and its animals, as he's been doing this for 10+ years. He was always full of energy and positive, and humble, and went above and beyond to find all the animals we wanted to see and to get us as close to them as possible. He definitely deserves a raise!

The company itself was very responsive, and Lennox was easy to get in touch with to plan the Safari. Two of our friends from our group had a delay, and Lennox arranged for them to be picked up last minute and connect with the rest of the group while they were on their way already. What a great way to really show commitment in making sure everyone is on the Safari tour and not missing out on this experience, even when unpredictable things happen.

There are many options to choose from, but after my own research I chose Axis and did not regret it! We looked at an $800 USD package at first from another company, and after talking to other travelers that took some of those options, I can confidently say we didn't miss out on much. The actual Safari experience is basically the same - the only thing that's different is the accommodation and food provided (both of which I was really satisfied with from our own package).

If you are on a budget, book this package and rest assured you're not missing out. We managed to see the Big 5 (plus tons of other animals) just as much as people that booked expensive packages did. Also, the 3 day package is generally enough to do most things in the reserver, but get a longer one if time permits.

I cannot recommend Axis Safaris enough, as well as our incredible guide James Gichina!
