Excellent trip!
5/5

Last week we came back from a 15-day Kenya-Tanzania safari and Zanzibar resort trip arranged by Otieno of KWSS. It was an amazing experience. It started with emails between me and Otieno and he never failed to respond on time with detailed answers to all of my questions. It was a real pleasure corresponding with him. If you are hesitant to send 100% deposit, don’t be. It’s a very responsible and reliable establishment. While on safari, I had called Otieno few times and he answered calls immediately, assuring concerns and answering questions.

On our first part of the trip in Kenya (lake Nakuru, Maasai Mara, Amboseli) we spent with assigned guide Anthony. If you decide to book your trip with KWSS, I highly recommend you request Anthony to be your guide. He is not only knowledgeable and friendly; he is also a person with a huge heart. I highly encourage everyone to bring something for the children of Maasai Mara tribes, when visiting. Box of cookies, few packs of candies will not break your bank but will be divided amongst these unfortunate children and will go a long way. In any case, let Anthony be your guide and let him share his knowledge of Kenya and safari with you. Not only that he tries hard for you to see the wildlife, he will explain to you the behavior of the animal and will predict what will happen next. If you witness a lioness finish devouring her kill, do not leave the spot right away. Savanna drama continues. You will likely see hyenas, vultures and others to compete for food.

Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater in Tanzania are the highlights of the trip, especially Ngorongoro. The amount of animals you’ll see there, even in low season, is unbelievable. Flamingoes and a black rhino are the only two species that we couldn’t find. But hey, it’s like going fishing. One day you catch some and on other days you don’t.
Last but not least. Be prepared for the unexpected. A shower in the lodge may not be like back home, a generator might go out in the tented camp or a baboon might steal your lunch box. It’s all good; don’t let it ruin your trip. Be prepared for long, dusty roads. Bring few surgical masks to cover your mouth, plastic bags for your photo equipment, lots of patience and generosity.
Zanzibar was good, but we were so tired from the trip that we just vegetated for few days, doing absolutely nothing but relax.
Overall experience with KWSS is five stars and if we ever decide to come back, rest assure we will book with Kenya Walking Survivors Safaris.
Thank you Otieno. Thank you Anthony.

Amazing Kenya!!
5/5

We are from Buenos Aires Argentina, this one was our first time in Africa and our first Safari and everything was wonderful!!
Kenya Walking Survivors was the perfect company, Mr. Otieno responded all our questions months ahead! Any Doubt about itinerary and payment was answered at perfection!
Our guide Benson was fantastic!!! 20 years experienced on safaris, we could see the Big Five and much more!! Comfortable vehicle and the itinerary very well plan around Amboseli, Nakuru, Masai Mara and Naivasha.
Kenya has the most incredible Parks and Animals in the world and also people are friendly, generous and kind.
We really recommend KWS as a serious and well trained company who works very hard to make everything work perfectly, the logistics for a safari is quite complex so we really apreciate the effort of KWS, if anything goes wrong they will solve it promptly.
We will choose them again for sure!

The greatest tour of Africa EVER.
5/5

I have been on many tours of Africa and find this is by far the best. The knowledge of the guide, the accommodation and the variety of wildlife we saw was amazing. Definitely the best value for money on the market. All questions asked before the tour was answered immediately. The communication was brilliant. I have booked again to go in July 2018 and went for the first time with this tour company in February 2017. The fact that I keep going back with them speaks for itself. We saw the big five and many many more. We could not have been happier if we had spent twice as much. BRILLIANT BRILLIANT!!!!

This was a fabulous trip that went beyond my expectations
5/5

Our trip to Africa was the best thing I’ve ever done in my life. I love Africa, it was better than I could have ever imagined. The people were wonderful and the animals were amazing. We really enjoyed our guides and Mr OT is an exceptional organizer with much patience for all my emails and questions. He was very informative and quick to respond.
My only regret is that I couldn’t stay. I am missing it terribly.
Thank you so much for helping me fulfill my life dream!!

KWS organized an excellent trip
5/5

I booked the trip online at a rather short notice. All aspects of the trip were handled very well by Mr. Otieno and we had a great time. Our guide, Shuma was very knowledgeable and we saw big five on the first day. The accommodations at Osero lodge were very comfortable and food excellent.

Experience of a lifetime
5/5

Outstanding. Africa is an experience of a lifetime, but a good tour company can make a big difference. Otieno at Kenya Walking Survivors was extremely helpful. I particularly appreciated his promptness in replying to our many messages.

8 days Samburu - Lake Nakuru - Masai Mara - Lake Naivasha
5/5

We are a family of four including two children of 12 and 15 years. Planning the trip took a while as many companies offer safari tours. We decided to travel with KWSS due to excellent reviews here and on Tripadvisor and due to very fast and good communication with Mr. Otieno. KWSS also ended up with the best offer in the end, so it can be worth negotiating the price and accommodation styles. We ended up staying at Samburu game lodge, Lake Nakuru sopa lodge, Oserolodge and Naivasha kongoni lodge – all very excellent places to stay!
Our driver David picked us up in the airport and drove us to our good hotel in Nairobi (Mimosa court apartments). The next 4 days we had long drives in the van as the distance to Samburu and further to lake Nakuru and Masai Mara took longer than stated in the programme due to bad roads (plan 8 hours each way, not 5). However, you see a lot of Kenya on the way. We had great game drives in Samburu – a park very different from Masai Mara. Also good game around lake Nakuru (no flamingoes anymore though) and excellent game in Masai Mara. David was a very experienced and friendly guide, who could answer all questions we had.
We visited the Masai village and it was actually a great experience for us as a family. Yes – the sell stuff, but we don’t mind bringing home a souvenier and the money goes to the village. We payed entrance fee 20 $ per adult and 10 $ per child (after some negotiation). The walk in Hells gate was great also.
All in all 5 stars to KWSS! If you bring children younger than 12 I would consider doing less driving/fewer places to visit.
