Great Kilimanjaro trek
5/5

Three friends and I just completed a 6 day Rongai route Kilimanjaro trek. The staff was very responsive and helpful months leading up to the trip. The guides and porters did a great job.

Amazing!
5/5

If you’re looking for an exceptional safari experience at an exceptional value, choose SAFARI BIG 5. The price (per person, per day) is one-fifth of many alternatives but delivers the full experience with flawless logistics and great accommodations. Perhaps most importantly, our assigned guide, Nadin, was a delight to be with. From the pick up at the hotel in Nairobi to the final drop off in Arusha, Imran Esmail at Safari Big 5 was on top of everything detail and cheerfully met all of our needs. The vehicle was in great condition and was driven off-road by an expert who was passionate about finding every animal for our viewing. The Kati Kati tented camp was beyond our expectations, with excellent beds, washrooms, and dining facilities. The Octagon Lodge was full of character and we especially appreciated the huge barbeque they put on for our last night. The Ngoroongoro Wildlife Lodge overlooking the Ngoroongoro crater was nothing short of breathtaking.

You can pay five times as much, but I’m hard pressed to understand how our experience could have been improved by paying more money. It was quite simply the experience of a lifetime.

Unforgettable trip; saw all the Big 5!
5/5

Excellently organised trip by Esmail from Safari Big 5 which incorporated all our needs (including our complex dietary needs) at a very reasonable price. We did a 5 day safari covering the 4 famous parks of TZ; Tarangire Park, Serengeti Park, Ngorogoro Crater and Lake Manyara Park. Our friendly driver was skilled at spotting all the animals we were interested in seeing including the big 5 and the wildebeest migration. It was incredible how close we were to the animals, especially the elephants and the giraffes. Our accommodation was amazing and we spent a couple of nights in tented camps in the center of the Serengeti close to wild animals and a few nights in a beautiful lodge just outside the parks. We would highly recommend using Safari Big 5 to all our friends and family.

Exquisite in every aspect!
5/5

Thoroughly organized. Mr Esmail was brilliant in his organization skills. We didn't even have to reach out to him for any information, he'd always keep us in the loop. The guides were superb. From their friendly attitude, to their motivational pep talks that kept us going just when we thought we couldn't go any further. Definitely made the whole Kili experience one to remember. Definitely recommend Safari Big 5 to anyone looking to undergo this expedition. Big up lads! Keep up the terrific work

Fantastic trip and memorable experience
5/5

My husband and I climbed Kilimanjaro followed by safari (camping) in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater. Excellent organisation by Imran who made sure out itinerary was well organised and met all of our needs. He was quick to respond to our queries before the trip and ensured we were well taken care of every step of the way. The guides were very experienced and knowledgable and made us feel very warm and welcome.
We have no complaints and would highly suggest this company to everyone planning a trip out there.
Thank you Safari Big 5 for the amazing and unforgettable experience!!!

Unforgettable experience!
5/5

Hello, we are an italian young couple that booked the whole safari online thanks to the kind help of Esmail who suggested us the best option according to our needs, desires and budget.
The safari started on the 18th August from Arusha, the driver, Nurdin, picked up us at the hotel with an amazing and very comfortable jeep (Toyota Land Cruiser) and he had started to explain us many things about Africa, Tanzania, lifestyle and of course, about the savana and the safari we were just starting.
We were so thrilled about seeing "the big 5" and feeling the real African wildness.
After an extraordinary route to Ngorongoro Crater (we also stopped in a Masai village) we arrived in Serengeti National Park where we slept 2 nights in a whortly wild lodge in the middle of the park, Seronera area (Kati Kati Camp);in Kati Kati camp you can feel and live the real Tanzania thanks to the animals that during the nights passed across the tends. Just one word: fantastic!
The day after we had had the game drive in Seronera and we were very lucky: we had seen all of the big 5!!! The driver always gave us information about animals, plants and the Savana and he was much helpful and kind to us. The following day we drove to Ngorongoro Crater where we saw the fantastic gnu and zebra migration and so many animals including the rhino. We slept in Octagon Lodge in Karatu, near Lake Manyara where the day after we had the last but non least game drive.
The accomodations and the food were always in line with our expectations; the driver and the guides were helpful and always dedicated to us and our needs.
For the total of 1600 km on route we can go on record as saying that the safari was an incredible and unforgettable experience and we strongly suggest it with "Safari Big 5".

Tour Operator Suitable for Wheelchair Passengers
5/5

My parents came in July 2014 to visit me in Tanzania. I was quite worried about organising a safari for them as my mother has limited mobility and uses a wheelchair. I tried a number of tour operators before approaching Safari Big 5, but they either seemed worried or disinterested in our special situation. I would say Esmail and his team really stood out in their professionalism and hospitality. I was really impressed that they reached out to all hotels and venues to check availabilities of disabled facilities and were quick to change hotels and providers where necessary.

From the minute we arrived at Kilimanjaro airport, to when we left 5 days later we were in the safe hands of Nourdin, driver cum game warden cum philosopher. Despite often terrible road conditions, Nourdin's calm and steady driving style made the journey smooth and relaxing. He was very adaptive to our needs and our pace ensuring we did not miss out on any of the major attractions yet not tiring us out too much. I have to say this was particularly impressive as it was Ramadan and Nourdin was fasting throughout the trip. I found communication between Nourdin and his team back in Arusha and Dar seemless. The team from Dar rang us several times during the trip to check up everything was ok, which I thought was a really nice touch.

Finally as This is Tanzania there were hiccups along the way.. I thought the gracious way the team at Safari Big 5 handled them in order not to ruin our holiday experience was noteworthy. I congratulate the team at Safari Big 5, this kind of customer service is rare in Tanzania, please keep up the good work. I would be happy to recommend them to anyone else, and if you have a wheelchair passenger in your party I really wouldn't look anywhere else.

Amazing Savannah and the awesome Serengeti!
5/5

A huge item on my bucket (oops! Barrel list) that got ticked off last month and it was nothing short of a dream come true. We did a 4 night trip to the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater from 26th to 30th May and Imran of Safari Big 5 did a swell job of organizing the travel as per our requirements.

I have to give a special mention here to Nurdin - our very able and knowledgeable driver, who knows the Serengeti like the back of his palm. An expert driver whose passion is wildlife, he drove us around in Serengeti (it's a 14000 sq km national park, so obviously one can't cover it all) and we were absolutely lucky to sight ALL of the BIG 5, among other adorable birds and animals. And our timing was right, since the Wildebeest were also migrating towards the Mara, so the sight of thousands and thousands of Wildebeest on their migratory trail, which is considered the world's biggest wildlife spectacle, was the icing on the cake.

The African black rhino can be sighted only at Ngorongoro, and guess what?? We saw him there too in all his royalty!!

All thanks to Nurdin and his knowledge, his dedication, his humility and his work.

The Sopa Lodge at Ngorongoro was top class and the Serengeti Seronera Lodge at the Serengeti was also quite good (reviewed both separately).

Would recommend Safari Big 5 to anyone who wants to plan a trip to the amazing Savannah.
