Working with Spirit of Kenya made this unbelievable experience a reality.
5/5

Our safari in Kenya surpassed all my expectations. If we had questions Susanna from Spirit of Kenya promptly returned our emails and gave us the answers we needed, made it easy for us to submit our payment and arranged our transportation from the airport to our hotel and scheduled our itinerary to meet our needs. We stayed in Tsavo West at the Salt Lick Game Lodge and Serena Safari Lodge in Amboseli. The food and accommodations were excellent and the people were all very nice. Our tour guides Charles and Moses made this special trip even better by their knowledge of the land and the animals. We were a group of eight and divided our driving time between the two of them. They spotted animals before any of us did, stopped for us to take pictures and seemed to enjoy us as much as we enjoyed them! We saw a vast array of animals...zebras, elephants, giraffes, lions, a leopard!...and many, many more. Every day we saw something new and exciting. I suggest wearing very comfortable clothing, you’ll be in a Jeep for a lot of fun filled hours! Just an incredible experience!!

Completely Exceeded Our Expectations!
5/5

I can’t speak highly enough about Spirit of Kenya Safari’s and our experience in Africa. Our tour arranger Susana was great and helped us put a fantastic itinerary together to maximize our length of stay and budget available while in Kenya. We chose three days/two nights in Tsavo West and three days/two nights in Amboseli. We stayed at the Sarova Salt Lick Game Lodge in Tsavo West which was this very cool lodge built on stilts above a watering hole. While there we were lucky enough to have a herd of elephants visit the waterhole giving us a very special up close and personal look at these incredible animals. In Amboseli we stayed at the Serena Safari Lodge and were equally happy with both accommodations. This is hardly roughing it, but the accommodations were budget friendly, the rooms and meals very good and the service at both places top notch. A special mention has to go to our Spirit of Kenya guides, Charles and Moses. They were both fantastic! Funny, but not obnoxious, knowledgeable but did not drone on incessantly, and most importantly listened to our group and made sure they met our needs and took care of us throughout the safari, which by the way exceed all of our expectations. We kept saying at the end of each day, how can tomorrow possibly top today, and then it would!!!!

Amazing safari experience!
5/5

We just returned from an amazing Safari in Kenya and Tanzania. Before booking anything we read many reviews which helped us form our opinion of what to do, where to go and what safari company to choose. Here is a review of our amazing journey and hope this helps anyone making any decisions….

We booked our Safari with Spirit of Kenya and from the very beginning their customer service was excellent. The person in the office replying to our emails, Tiago, was very patient and helpful. He responded to all our emails very quickly and helped us understand the process of booking the Safari very well. Tiago gave us different pricing options and explained everything in detail every step of the way while tailoring the safari to our needs. This service was one of the main reasons why we chose Spirit of Kenya from among other Safari Operators. Although we booked everything with Spirit of Kenya, the safari in Tanzania’s side was taken care of by Soul of Tanzania.

Our first part of the Safari was in Kenya and we had Stephen who was our guide and game driver. Stephen was very experienced, knowledgeable, careful driver and took good care of us. We did the Kenya part in a 4x4 minivan which was good but maybe in hindsight we should have upgraded for a 4x4 Land Cruiser as the minivan could not go everywhere due to the limitations of the vehicle and very muddy roads. This was only a small issue and Stephen still managed to drive us around in Masai Mara and see many animals up close. The tented accommodation, Julia’s River Camp, was very good and the staff were very welcoming, attentive and helpful! The food with Spirit of Kenya was good and we enjoyed our picnic in the bush!

Next we needed to cross the border and start our journey in Tanzania. Be prepared for a very long and tiring drive!

In Tanzania and we visited Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. When we crossed the border we were greeted by Vincent who was our guide for the next part of the journey. Vincent was a great guide who drove us around in a very good 4x4 Land Cruiser (which was a great upgrade from the 4x4 Minivan - This also included a socket for charging our cameras and phones). Vincent was very sharp, adventurous and had hawk-like-eyes who could spot the smallest animal from miles away! We also had a few laughs together when we took a series of photographs with him on Christmas day in the middle of Serengeti Park!

In Serengeti we saw many animals and were much more abundant from what we saw in Masai Mara. This could be due to the time of the year we visited these parks. There were days were we saw up to 20 lions in one day! On our last day we went to Ngoronoro and visited the crater where we saw plenty of animals in the most beautiful surroundings!
In Serengeti we stayed at Pumzika Tented Camps which had a beautiful setting and beautiful tents. Their hospitality was also very good and friendly. In Serengeti we spent full days out and Soul of Tanzania provided us with hot lunches, including fruit, wine and coffee!!

At Ngorongoro we stayed at Rhino Lodge which was a basic and decent lodge. We somehow prefered the tented camps as these were more adventurous, however at Ngorongro the climate was very cold so we appreciated sleeping at a permanent lodge.

At the end of our safari Vincent drove us (a long drive!) to Arusha were we finished our safari and Soul of Tanzania also provided us with a complimentary airport transfer 2 days later.

We are very happy to have experienced this special part of the world with Spirit of Kenya and Soul of Tanzania! We managed to see hundreds of animals including the Big 5 on many occasions! Thank you all for making this experience such an unforgettable special one and for making new friends along the way!

Amazing Tanzania Safari with Daniel
5/5

The safari was amazing, it was a completely different holiday we never did before. The pick up on the airport took a bit but the driver was very friendly and the hotel was fine. The next day it was quick to the border and once meeting our guide Daniel and the jeep at the border, it became amazing. Daniel was an amazing guide, so friendly, so knowledgeable and he asked us the right questions. We were not interested to get off path or need to see something specific. We had an amazing time just driving around and seeing so many animals.
The route was great, first in Tarangire and then Serengeti. We loved Tarangire, so simple to see so many different animals and great places to stay. In Serengeti we really enjoyed the longer drives, see some more animals and the tented camps were amazing. The only camp which was a bit disappointing was Angata Camp in Ngorongoro.

Overall, the food was amazing, the travel amazing and the guide Daniel. The jeep was really big, so much space but in great condition. Which was necessary in the long drives to the Serengeti North and back. Although the drives were a couple of hours, it was totally worth it as the migration was an amazing spectacle to see.

Safari tour in Kenya and Tanzania
5/5

I am currently working in Ethiopia and decided to do a tour covering Kenya and Tanzania in about 2 weeks. I booked with Soul of Tanzania which organized the Tanzanian leg of the tour and outsourced the Kenyan part to Spirit of kenya. All the logistics were great and no obstacles appeared. In Tanzania we had land cruisers while in Kenya we had Toyota minivans. Comfort is very similar but the landcruisers are worth the extra bucks. Both vehicles were reliable and very clean.

Both guides were amazing but my favourite was Spirit of Kenya guide. His name was Robert. It was amazing how he could spot animals camafulaged far away while concentrating on his driving. The Tanzanian guide was James and he was very professional and corteous.

Overall amazing experience and would definitely recommend!

Best safari trip/ Service minded staff!
5/5

I have to say that Tiago was the reason why I chose to go with this company. Over 78 emails that we have exchanged, she was always prompted, flexible and detailed in her responses. I knew that this would be the company who cares about the guests.

And Simon, our driver and guide, didn't disappoint us! He is very knowledgeable about animals and the parks and made us feel safe with his driving skills the whole time we were on the road. He went above and beyond for us (we spotted 4 of the big 5 and it was our last day in the park and he decided to stay past his working hours to find a rhino for us!) He knows the park very well - we saw herds of wildebeests crossing the river in their migration 2 times in 1 day, which was amazing! Big thank you shout out to Simon!

Highly recommend this company! The whole staff team has service mind and knows how to be flexible to satisfy the guests! Next time I go back to Kenya, there's no doubt that I will use Spirit of Kenya again!

Exceeded our expectations
5/5

The entire staff of Spirit of Kenya contributed to making our 10 day safari a great trip. From recommendations on accomodations to solving international wire issues down to providing beanbags for telephoto lenses - the staff responded quickly.
But the most important part of the safari in my opinion is your guide. He is the one that will make or break your trip.
John was just an awesome guide. His knowledge of the animals and his uncanny ability to predict their movements even before they knew themselves was amazing.
John made sure we not only saw just about every animal there was to see, but were close enough to get some fantastic pictures making this amateur photographer feel like a professional.
His sense of humor and infectious laugh made the long bumpy drives fly by.
It is a trip we will never forget.
We would highly recommend Spirit of Kenya.

Brilliant from start to finish
5/5

Our experience with Spirit of Kenya has been fantastic. Right from the beginning of the booking process they were very helpful, patient and fast at replying. This made the booking easy and stress free as they were always happy to answer any questions we had quickly. We felt very at ease knowing that any questions we had were always answered within a few hours (sometimes even minutes)! The attitude of all of the staff I spoke to was very friendly and accommodating. We had no communication issues as they all speak really good English. Our guide, Charles, was brilliant. He was very friendly, chatty and knowledgeable. It was a pleasure getting to know him! He made sure we saw all of the animals we could've wished to see and made our safari very memorable and enjoyable. His timings were always excellent too! I liked that we were able to choose the accommodation in each location, we chose economy options for them all and loved all of them. We had our safari in the standard mini van with the pop up roof and it was great. A great way to give us the perfect safari on a budget!
I am so impressed, you have exceeded expectations, I'm so glad we were able to book our safari with you.
We would really recommend Spirit of Kenya to anyone, you have been brilliant.
Thank you so much for our amazing experience!
