an exciting and educational experience that way exceeds our expectations
We went on several salaries in southern Africa (South Africa, Botswana, and Zimbabwe) in May 2019 and the safari with Wild Planet turned out to be the best overall -- in communications and service in lodging, food, transportation and game drive. One thing standing out with Wild Planet and we all appreciate most is the sharing of knowledge, from local tourist information, national parks, features and habits of different animals, hunting, animal control-management and people-animal relation, to politics, history, ethnic groups in southern Africa and so on. We were very lucky to have Lance as our tour leader and guide, who is exceptionally knowledgeable, willing, and able to share information about all these topics and to answer all questions we had. As a result, the entire tour turned out to be very educational. Lance responded to our needs timely and effectively; he went far and beyond to ensure that we have the best experience possible in this area.

Great service, food and sightings!
Our trip with Wild Planet Safari surpassed our expectations. Thale was helpful and quick to respond prior to our trip and Chris and Ben looked after us brilliantly from the moment they picked us up to when they dropped us off 5 days later. We saw some wonderful scenery on the Panorama Route and all of the big 5 (and many other animals too) in Kruger. Chris worked very hard to try and find leopard and rhino which we were most keen to see and was so excited for us when we did! Unforgettable memories

Comprehensive tour, amazing sightings, and wonderful people!
The service was great: we got to cook great food and told interesting stories, and also were able to get up by 5am and get out there to see the sunrise sightings! I thought we would be a little closer to the animals, however, most of them were pretty far away, even on the bush-walk. Also, more bathroom breaks needed! Overall it was so fantastic to go on this Safari.

We had an amazing 3 days in Kruger
The experience with Wild Planet Safari was wonderful. Communication leading up to our trip was easy and Thale was always quick to reply with helpful information. Very accommodating.
My family and I completed a 3 day Kruger Safari with Wild Planet Safari in March 2019. It was an amazing. I didn’t have very high expectations for we only had 3 days in Kruger but we saw many animals and several times over. Our guide Chris’ spotting ability is very impressive. The entire trip was great from start to finish, accommodation is great, meals are delicious, above our expectations, safari drives are amazing, I have some incredible photos and wonderful memories from this trip. Good viewing - poor guiding
The booking process was easy and Thale was a pleasure to work with. Very accommodating.
The accommodations were as advertised and decently comfortable.
It was on overall good value for a private tour, with food included and in those accommodations. I enjoyed the food, great cooking by Lungisani!
My problem and reason for 3/5 is the guides. I honestly don’t know if Isaac can see well enough to be guiding tours. He was knowledgeable when we spotted an animal, but he never saw them. Lungisani would spot all the animals and tell Isaac to stop (his driving wasn’t great either). On the 2 drives in which Lungisani didn’t come, Isaac didn’t even stop the vehicle once because he didn’t see anything (even though we did). Also he didn’t speak once to us. When they were both there, on the drives and at camp/during meals, they just spoke to each other in their own languages or were on their phones, which made it very awkward and uncomfortable for us. Very little conversation with us and getting to know each other. Although we saw lots of animals, and the park was incredible, the guides detracted from our experience a lot.
Overall, would I go back to Kruger? Yes, 100%. Would I use Wild planet safari? Possibly, but it would totally depend on who the guides were. Service levels while spending 5+ full days with someone needs to improve drastically.

Exceeded my high expectations
My partner and I completed a 6 day Kruger Safari with Wild Planet Safari in February 2019. I couldn't have prepared myself for how much of an amazing experience it was. I had modest expectations of the amount of animals we would see in the park but we saw everything and several times over the 6 days. Ryan and Lungisani knew just where to find the animals and their spotting ability is very impressive. The entire trip was great from start to finish, accommodation is great, meals are great, safari drives are amazing, Ryan and Lungisani were terrific guides and Thale is excellent and responsive to your booking needs when planning.
I have some incredible photos and memories forever from this trip and it has motivated me to see more of Kruger and of Southern Africa with Wild Planet Safari.

Lifetime experience
We did the 6-day Kruger Safari Tour with Wild Planet Safari and really enjoyed our time in Kruger National Park. Our guides Chris and Ben did their best so that we see as many animals as possible. Chris's eyes are extraordinary! He can really spot the smallest animals at long distances. Ben's cooking was also very good! Communication, booking, paying and transfers were excellent. We would recommend Wild Planet Safari to everyone!

Knowledgeable guides who would do anything for us
I was contacted by email to set everything up. Once we arrived, we were introduced and told the schedule. We had two guides, one driver and the other the cook.
We enjoyed dinner made on the coals by our lodges. Excellent menu.
During the safaris, we were taken to the best spots to see so many animals.
I really enjoyed my time and would go with this company again.

A well thought and planned African experience
Our tour started in Johannesburg and went up through Kruger and Zimbabwe finishing at Victoria Falls
Our family 4 had a driver/spotter and chef/spotter throughout Kruger- with their expertise we saw everything and had great time. Zimbabwe we had one person doing both jobs - bar no electricity we had a ball. Highlights being walking with rhinos, matapo hills and close experiences with lion and leopard. Food better than expected.
